Description : Scholars and students alike have hailed the book of Romans as one of the greatest single literary works of all time. When you consider that it is also the Word of God, it makes the study of his remarkable book all the more valuable for help in day-to-day living. Relying on the truth that Scripture is the best commentary on Scripture, author Fred Scheeren walks us through Romans by tracing the concepts and promises found in this awe-inspiring book through the New and Old Testaments. If you've ever wondered about: how to access the grace of God; how to walk victoriously in the Spirit; what it means to be "grafted" in as a believer; what it means to be heart-circumcised; the role and meaning of baptism in a believer's life; or how to avoid error when studying the Scriptures ......then you won't want to miss this Bible study guide. Better yet, find a group of like-minded friends to join you in creating a small study-group experience. Such a collection of people might also quite appropriately be called a "life group," as the members do more than enhance their knowledge of Scripture. They develop close, personal relationships as they apply God's Word to their lives and support each other in the positive growth they experience as a result.

Description : Paul, the bond-servant of Christ Jesus, was proud of two things: his power and his weakness. His power was in the message he preached. His weakness was whatever he could accomplish by his own talents. As long as Paul was able to distinguish between the two, he could minimize the latter in order to leave room for the former. Thus Paul allowed this message to put to use its power without being overshadowed by his own personality. Because Paul recognized the fact that his weakness was his strength and his strength his weakness, he could boast only about the Gospel of his Lord and that which the Gospel accomplished through him (Romans 15:18,19; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5; 2 Corinthians 3:5; 4:5; 10:17,18; 11:30; 12:5-10; Galatians 6:14; Colossians 2:8). The Lord told Paul this very thing in 2 Corinthians 12:9.This gospel and the privilege of preaching it were of first importance to Paul, as we note from Romans 1:14-16, Romans 10:14,15 and other passages (1 Corinthians 9:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:11,20; 1 Timothy 4:16; 2 Timothy 4:2).

It contains the power for the gospel of the grace of God to change lives and enable believers to be more than conquerors and truly reign in life by Jesus Christ. So how do we discover all of the richness and power God freely gives? More Than Conquerors digs deep into the book of Romans and is a commentary and reference aid for the serious Bible student. Each chapter is based off the corresponding chapter in Romans, and author and preacher Michael J. Tiry offers rich verse-by-verse notes and commentary that can help students understand the meanings of Paul's statements and find references to other portions of the Bible. But more so, these commentaries can help readers mature as Christians and come to know God's Word and his truth. The book of Romans contains insight that is found nowhere else; it focuses on the ultimate work of Jesus Christ as Creator and Redeemer. And by studying Romans, Christians can see how it is that God joined us into an eternal spiritual union with Jesus Christ to provide total victory over sin and death.

Description : "From studying Paul's letter to the Romans, we can learn the content of the Christian faith like nowhere else in the New Testament. Paul's words are loaded with divine truth and require careful study and thought. Indeed the letter to the Romans is a theological jewel, but Paul's discussions in the letter are sensible and practical. "As the name of the letter indicates, Paul wrote it to a church in a city known as Rome. At the same time without knowing it, he wrote it to the whole world and for all the ages, supporting the efforts of cross-cultural ministry and providing a key to understanding the Bible. So even though this great letter was addressed to the saints in Rome during the first century, its message is eternal, and its mandates are universal." -French L. Arrington
