Anxiety Attack Book Excerpt:

There is an epidemic plaguing our culture. Sadly, Christians are not immune to it. In fact, as followers of Christ, we may be more susceptible to the outbreak than we realize. And if we're not careful, it can incapacitate us before we even understand what's happening. It's anxiety. It can strike in any area of our lives, from our money to our marriage, from our job to our health to our kids. It can attack our friendships and our very faith itself. It's a joy-stealer, a peace-robber, and a hope-hijacker. It weakens our courage, waters down our contentment, and fans the flames of our greatest fears. It's a security-snatcher and a faith-killer. It's eating us alive. And it's time for us to fight back. Anxiety Attack presents God's antidote to the epidemic. There is One answer to every anxiety for every person. Anxiety Attack explores how we get ourselves into patterns of anxiety and how God, in His grace, leads us back out. So, open your Bible, seek the Lord in prayer, and press on. It's time to wage war on the burdens we bear. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJdiOMBjBCQ

Anxiety Disorder Research Book Excerpt:

Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illnesses affecting both children and adults. Anxiety disorders may develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events. Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterised by excessive, unrealistic worry that lasts six months or more; in adults, the anxiety may focus on issues such as health, money, or career. In obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) individuals are plagued by persistent, recurring thoughts (obsessions) that reflect exaggerated anxiety or fears; typical obsessions include worry about being contaminated or fears of behaving improperly or acting violently. Panic Disorder, a third type of anxiety disorder, is when people suffer severe attacks of panic which may make them feel like they are having a heart attack or are going crazy for no apparent reason. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can follow an exposure to a traumatic event such as a sexual or physical assault, witnessing a death, the unexpected death of a loved one, or natural disaster. Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia; SAD) is characterised by extreme anxiety about being judged by others or behaving in a way that might cause embarrassment or ridicule. In regards to specific phobias people with specific phobias suffer from an intense fear reaction to a specific object or situation (such as spiders, dogs, or heights); the level of fear is usually inappropriate to the situation, and is recognised by the sufferer as being irrational. Drugs used to treat anxiety disorders include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, beta blockers, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). This new book brings together leading research from throughout the world.

Anxiety A Self HElp Guide to Overcoming Severe Anxiety Controlling Panic Attacks Easy Guide To Recover The Control Of Your Emotion Book Excerpt:

A Comprehensive, Holistic Guide to the Conventional Medical and Self-Care Treatments for Anxiety Disorders Overcoming Your Anxiety for People on the Go is my journey. It took me a summer to write this book but years of living with anxiety and its symptoms to accumulate the knowledge that is contained in it. I was tired of people telling me I had to manage my anxiety for the rest of my life. What I was starting to see was that I could overcome it. I was done with the nasty tricks anxiety was playing on me. I was done sabotaging myself. In this book are the lessons I learned through self reflection, reading and studying anxiety and speaking to people going through the same thing as me. There are no tricks or gimmicks in this book. The goal is to get you to change your perspective on your sensations and your thoughts. I want you to see your anxiety in a different light. Each of these individuals was able to use breathing, meditation and simple stretching poses to help heal emotional issues and gain insights that changed their lives. Many people I work with say initially that meditation doesn't work for them because their mind is too active and races out of control. I am happy to see that often they will change their view after trying a breathing or meditation technique during the week. It has been wonderful to see each person shed their former limitations and break out of restricting patterns. It is my hope that these stories will help you with your own journey and give you tools you can apply each day for more peace, joy and personal growth. Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Learn... It is specific in origin but exceedingly diffuse in its expression. The book comes at a time of rapid growth in knowledge about anxiety disorders and their treatment. It critically assesses current therapeutic regimes and highlights research that will influence future clinical practice.
