Description : Dr. Walker lays out his program on how to become younger which he partly defines as having all or most of the attributes of youth, health, energy, vitality and perpetual laughter on the lips and in the eyes. The key to accessing both more energy and more vitality lies in changing our eating, drinking, and living habits. Dr. Walker encourages people to develop a very definite philosophy he calls Right Thinking, which is maintaining a positive outlook and positive thoughts about themselves and others. Together with the other principles outlined in his program, he offers readers knowledge that gives them the courage to make the changes necessary. Readers are given a brief yet concise introduction to different parts of our anatomy and how these systems work for and against us, depending upon the food we consume. Dr. Walker recommends changing old eating habits to include natural, nourishing foods. The use of juicing, fasting, and eating natural, organic foods in their unprocessed forms, including mostly raw fruits and vegetables, play an important role in maintaining good health. Through his personal observations, experience, and knowledge, Dr. Walker provides the information needed to stay younger.

Description : Violence dictated the daily rhythms of Cole Younger?s life. During the Civil War he was selected to join Quantrill?s Raiders because he owned his own revolver. His participation in the brutal 1863 raid on Lawrence, Kansas, drove him and other guerrillas into hiding as Union troops sought to punish the perpetrators of atrocities including the murder of women and children. Younger met up with Jesse James in 1866. The James and Younger families cooperated in a series of bank and train robberies over the next decade that led to a feeling of invincibility. That feeling came to an end in Northfield, Minnesota, when local citizens killed two of the gang and wounded most of the others. Cole and his younger brothers were captured, tried, and sentenced to life in the Minnesota State Penitentiary. But even a life sentence could not keep Younger in prison. Despite a career that included thirty wounds, battles with Pinkerton detectives and Yankees, an affair with outlaw Belle Starr, and a near-fatal confrontation with Jesse James, Cole Younger survived to become a living legend in his home state of Missouri. He died peacefully, a free man.
Description : This book is the comprehensive volume of the TAIGA (“a great river ” in Japanese) project. Supported by the Japanese government, the project examined the hypothesis that the subseafloor fluid advection system (subseafloor TAIGA) can be categorized into four types, TAIGAs of sulfur, hydrogen, carbon (methane), and iron, according to the most dominant reducing substance, and the chemolithoautotrophic bacteria/archaea that are inextricably associated with respective types of TAIGAs which are strongly affected by their geological background such as surrounding host rocks and tectonic settings. Sub-seafloor ecosystems are sustained by hydrothermal circulation or TAIGA that carry chemical energy to the chemosynthetic microbes living in an extreme environment. The results of the project have been summarized comprehensively in 50 chapters, and this book provides an overall introduction and relevant topics on the mid-ocean ridge system of the Indian Ocean and on the arc-backarc systems of the Southern Mariana Trough and Okinawa Trough.
