Description : Black the Night and Wild the Sea is a story of adventure and intrigue set in the turbulent era of the Australian gold rushes. It is also a love story between two very different characters: Michael Byrnes, a warm hearted but roguish Irish adventurer, and Sele Kanawa, a beautiful and passionate Eurasian missionary. The story ranges from the wild southern coast of Australia to the jungles of the Cape York Peninsula and the wild unexplored islands of Melanesia, where brutal sea captains abducted natives to work as virtual slave labourers, and missionaries risked their lives to stop them. It is also a tale of a woman torn between her love for God and the work she feels called to do, and her love for a man determined to make his fortune. Vincent Smith grew up in an industrial town in England and moved to Australia when he was sixteen. It was then that he fell under the spell of the islands of the South West Pacific and their turbulent history. For the past half century he has served as a minister and chaplain to the Australian army, police and emergency services; some of it in the places where this story is set

Description : In this riveting follow-up to Mafia Summer, Vinny Vesta's torrid affair with his co-pilot's widow brings him, unwittingly and unwillingly, back into the family business. The only question is whether he can escape it again, with his life. Black Widow is a gripping page-turner that brings to life the decadent bachelor-pad living of the Blue Angels, old-Hollywood grandeur, and the maneuverings of Genovese as he takes over the Luciano crime family and alters the face of the New York Mob. PRAISE FOR MAFIA SUMMER: "Sweet, affectionate, and bloody: a glance backward to a well-spent youth."--Kirkus Reviews "With its pedigree, it just may be the perfect summer book."--New York Post, "Required Reading"

Description : The Danube is Europe's Amazon. It flows through more countries than any other river on Earth - from the Black Forest in Germany to Europe's farthest fringes, where it joins the Black Sea in Romania. Andrew Eames' journey along its length brings us face to face with the Continent's bloodiest history and its most pressing issues of race and identity. As he travels - by bicycle, horse, boat and on foot - Eames finds himself seeking a bed for the night with minor royalty, hitching a ride on a Serbian barge captained by a man called Attila and getting up close and personal with a bull in rural Romania. He meets would-be kings and walks with gypsies, and finally rows his way beyond the borders of Europe entirely...

Description : Drawn to a force he can't resist... Former police officer Kevin Hennessey is running from his past-choosing to battle smugglers instead of dealing with his personal demons. When a desperate, rain-drenched American woman appears on his doorstep with wild tales of danger, Kevin is drawn to helping her, despite his reservations... She never saw him coming... Amber O'Neill knew without a doubt that her brother was in mortal danger. Rushing heedlessly to the rocky shores of Ireland, Amber was stunned to find her rescue mission derailed by a gorgeous, but deeply flawed Irishman... The tumultuous sea, the intertwined fates of the coastal villagers, and unearthly tales of a hidden selkie prince bring Kevin and Amber together in a connection of mind, body, and soul that neither can deny... Praise for The Wild Sight: "A fascinating tale that kept me spellbound." Sandy Blair, author of A Highlander for Christmas "A magical tale of romance and intrigue. I couldn't put it down! Loucinda McGary is a talent to watch." Pamela Palmer, author of Desire Untamed "A richly drawn love story and riveting romantic suspense." Karin Tabke, author of Master of Craving "Bursting with passion." Darque Reviews
