Description : Creation in Six Days offers an exegetical, literary, and theological defense of the traditional interpretation of the Genesis account of six-day creation. Jordan's account is primarily designed to answer any approach to the text of Genesis, such as the increasingly popular Framework Hypothesis, that pits the text's literary features against its historical and narrative sense. Beyond his exegetical critique of several prominent positions, Jordan offers a constructive reading of the early parts of Genesis and also seeks to uncover the assumptions which attract people to the Framework Interpretation and similar views. The explanation, he says, lies in the acceptance of many of the questionable assumptions of modern science on the part of most Christians today, coupled with the pervasiveness of a gnostic or nonhistorical attitude toward the Christian faith.

Description : This book refutes the framework interpretation and other figurative interpretations of the days of creation and shows the majestic progression of God's work of creation in six literal days. The author enters into debate with renowned contemporary theologians and seeks to give exegetical and theological guidance to modern students, pastors, and church leaders amidst the present attractiveness of non literal interpretations of Genesis 1 and 2. Rev. Bedard's focused critique of the Framework Hypothesis and his vigorous defence of the plain meaning of Scripture deserves a wide reading. Heartily recommended! - Dr. Cornelis Van Dam (Professor Emeritus, Old Testament, Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary) Those who find themselves attracted to the Framework Hypothesis should read this book for its thorough, incisive, and cautionary critique of this theory and its potential consequences. - Dr. Jannes Smith (Professor of Old Testament, Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary) Paulin Bedard has done an admirable job of highlighting the dangers inherent in this insidious interpretation of the creation account. His extensive research demonstrates that those who embrace the Framework Hypothesis often are influenced by the 'apparent' scientific evidence for long ages in their reading of Genesis 1 and 2. Clearly presenting the presuppositions and refuting the arguments of those who promote these erroneous views, it is well worth a read. - Dr. Anco Farenhorst (DVM) Paulin Bedard has written an excellent refutation of figurative views of Genesis 1. He shows the necessity of maintaining the plain truth of God's Word, in face of current attacks on its credibility. I heartily recommend this book, particularly for Reformed (and other) theologians and students. - Dr. John Byl (Professor Emeritus, Mathematical Science, Trinity Western University) Rev. Bedard is a graduate of the Reformed Seminary in Aix-en-Provence, France. He is currently pastor of the Reformed Church of Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada.

Description : The first volume of our new series, Fathers of the Church: Shorter Works, will be available in the summer of 2021. This series, to be printed only in paperback format, will offer English translations of treatises, homilies, poems, and letters of the Church Fathers in slim, easily affordable volumes. In this way a multitude of important writings will become accessible to scholars and students as well as the reading public. This is the first complete English translation of St. Gregory of Nyssa’s treatise On the Six Days of Creation (In Hexaemeron). It was probably written in 380-381, and is designed as both a defense and a critique of his recently deceased brother St. Basil’s better known homilies on the creation story as set out in the first chapter of Genesis. At the same time it incorporates Gregory’s own observations on the Genesis text, which reflect his desire to show the consistency between Scripture and the philosophy and natural science of his day A notable feature is Gregory’s presentation of God’s creation of the world as what has been called a “substantification” of God’s own will, creatio ex Deo rather than creatio ex nihilo. Other ideas of his seem interestingly to foreshadow those of modern science, notably his challenge to the idea that matter is a primary ontological category and his theory that the world as we know it developed through a process of “sequence” (akolouthia) from an originally simultaneous creation of everything. Gregory differs from Basil in maintaining that the “waters above the firmament” in Genesis 1 are spiritual rather than physical in nature. He uses a modified form of Aristotle’s theory of elements, together with some interesting observations on geography and meteorology, to construct a detailed and ingenious account of the “water cycle.” This description enables him to refute Basil’s notion that there needs to be an extra supply of physical water above the firmament so that the water lost from earthly seas and rivers through evaporation can be “topped up.”

Description : Discover how many evangelical leaders, willingly or unwittingly, are undermining the authority of God's Word by compromising the Bible in Genesis Learn how allowing for an old/universe of billions of years unlocks a door of compromise Heed the wake-up call to the Church to return to the authority of God's Word, beginning in Genesis. Today, most Bible colleges, seminaries, K-12 Christian schools, and now even parts of the homeschool movement do not accept the first eleven chapters of Genesis as literal history. They try to fit the supposed billions of years into Genesis, and some teach evolution as fact. Our churches are largely following suit. Ken Ham, international speaker and author on biblical authority, examines how compromise starting in Genesis, particularly in regard to the six days of creation and the earth's age, have filtered down from the Bible colleges and seminaries to pastors—and finally to parents and their children. This erosive legacy is seen in generations of young people leaving the Church—2/3 of them. Get the facts, discover God's truth, and help bring a new reformation to the Church by helping to call it back to the authority of God's Word.

Description : We have two the choice of believing science or believing the Bible which provides little evidence at all on the surface. According to scientific evidence, humans first evolved in Africa, and much of human evolution occurred on that continent. It shows that the physical and behavioral traits shared by all people originated from apelike ancestors and evolved over a period of approximately six million years. Nevertheless in the Bible, Adam and Eva symbolize the existence of humans being a world created by God. But we also can't deny the dinosaur and the caveman stories in prehistoric.
