Description : This book was not written; it was built. I was not the architect, but a laborer under the direction of the Holy Spirit whose purpose is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not intended for casual reading, but to inspire further study of the Word. It is my hope and prayer that readers will be inspired to build upon the concept of the church as “God’s alternative society.” It is my hope that many sermons will grow out of what the Holy Spirit has given me to put in this book. It is my hope that it will lead to study of the Word, which reveals Jesus Christ who said, “I will build my church.”

Description : The unsettling context of late modernity, a terrain of an infinite fragmentation of life, poses a challenge to Christianity to rearticulate its defining doctrine of the Trinity. Christianity's initial messianic weakness_in that its canonical writings attest to a universal message of redemption for the victims of Empire_was subverted into the strong theology of the Empire. This book demonstrates that Trinitarian discourse was profoundly implicated in this development as it essentially absorbed and took the bite out of the messianic language of the early Christian movement. Zathureczky proposes a retrieval of the messianic discourse of Christianity by way of recapturing its redemptive weakness. Relying on an elective affinity between Walter Benjamin's messianism and JYrgen Moltmann Trinitarianism, he attempts to recapture the 'weakness' and fragility of the language of the initial messianic impulse of the Christian community. The resulting 'weak' Trinitarianism retains the basic character of Christianity as a Trinitarian faith, but now Trinitarian discourse about God is simultaneously messianic discourse, a language that is attuned to give voice to the damaged lives and alienating conditions of our contemporary context.

Description : And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. ""Acts 3:20""21 One must come to understand that the Bible's history and revelation are not randomly told. The biblical narrative drives toward a single endpoint: The Day of God. Once the believer realizes this, he will begin to recognize the fully integrated plan of God in the Bible. He will learn to read all Scripture from the perspective of its cohesion and the end to which all history and revelation point. Some would say the Bible should be understood from the Resurrection of Christ backward. I would contend the Bible should be viewed from the Day of God backward. In this book the reader will come to a clear understanding of what the Bible means by "the restitution of all things." The Day of God is written, dedicated and offered to help the believer understand God's revealed plan for the last days.

Description : In the present ecological crisis, it is imperative that human beings reconsider their place within nature and find new, more responsible and sustainable ways of living. Assumptions about the nature of God, the world, and the human being, shape our thinking and, consequently, our acting. Some have charged that the Christian tradition has been more a hindrance than a help because its theology of nature has unwittingly legitimated the exploitation of nature. This book takes the current criticism of Christian tradition to heart and invites a reconsideration of the problematic elements: its desacralization of nature; its preoccupation with the human being to the neglect of the rest of nature; its dualisms and elevation of the spiritual over material reality, and its habit of ignoring or resisting scientific understandings of the natural world. Anna Case-Winters argues that Christian tradition has a more viable theology of nature to offer. She takes a look at some particulars in Christian tradition as a way to illustrate the undeniable problems and to uncover the untapped possibilities. In the process, she engages conversation partners that have been sharply critical and particularly insightful (feminist theology, process thought, and the religion and science dialogue). The criticisms and insights of these partners help to shape a proposal for a reconstructed theology of nature that can more effectively fund our struggle for the fate of the earth.

Description : Using the paradigm of "solidarity of others" as the central theme of theology, this book shows that it is possible to renew the doctrine of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of solidarity and recapture the potential of the "body of Christ" as embodiment of this solidarity.

Description : Because the Bible describes the second person of the Trinity as the key agent in creation, redemption, and the restoration of all things, it is imperative that Christians seeking conformity to the image of Christ root their understand- ing of, and motivation for, creation care in a theology and ethic that seeks to maximize the worship of Christ throughout all creation. Discussions related to creation care and environmental ethics have become both politically charged and highly controversial. Unfortunately, while a growing number of Christian books address various aspects of creation care that either support or deny the reality of global warming or perhaps advocate various policies and practices, there is very little work available seeking to focus on, clarify, and establish the biblical and theological foundations upon which Christians ought to care for God’s world. Even more specifically, there seems to be almost a complete dearth of accessible works in theology or ethics that offers a Christology of creation care. Thus, the purpose of True North is to explore the person and work of Christ in creation, redemption, and the restoration of all things so as to establish the idea that caring for God’s creation depends not upon prognostications for or against a global warming crisis. Rather, the motivation for Christians to care for creation flows from the created purposes established in the very fabric of the universe, faithful discipleship in Christ, and the inherent goal to return to God all the glory he is due from every corner and aspect of creation.
