Design Your Life is a series of irreverent and realistic snapshots about objects and how we interact with them. By leading design thinker Ellen Lupton and her twin sister Julia Lupton, it shows how design is about much more than what's bought at high-end stores or the modern look at IKEA. Design is critical thinking: a way to look at the world and wonder why things work, and why they don't. Illustrated with original paintings of objects both ordinary and odd, Design Your Life casts a sharp eye on everything from roller bags, bras, toilet paper, and stuffed animals to parenting, piles, porches, and potted plants. Using humor and insight Ellen and Julia explore the practical side of everyday design, looking at how it impacts your life in unexpected ways and what you can do about it. Speaking to the popular interest in design as well as people's desire to make their own way through a mass-produced world, this thoughtful book takes a fresh and humorous approach to make some serious points about the impact of design on our lives. Find out what's wrong with the bras, pillows, potted plants, and the other hopeless stuff you use, buy, clean, water, or put away everyday. Discover how to secretly control the actions of those around you by choosing and placing objects carefully. Find out how roller bags are threatening civilization, and how the layout of your own house might be making you miserable. Use the tools of self-publishing to take the power of branding into your own hands. Taking a fresh, funny look at parenthood, housekeeping, entertaining, time management, crafting, and more, Design Your Life shows you how to evaluate the things you use, and how to recognize forms of order that secretly inhabit the messes of daily life, be it a cluttered room or a busy schedule. Use this book to gain control over your environment and tap into the power of design to communicate with friends, family, and the world.

Don't spend your whole life searching for the right job; make it the most important job to design the right life. Pernille Spiers-Lopez left Denmark for the United States as a young, naïve entrepreneur. Years later, she became CEO of IKEA North America and then Global HR manager for 130,000 employees. But she soon learned—staring at the roof of the ambulance that was rushing her to the ER—that the job had a price. So this is success. I am away from my family, my children, and my life. This can’t really be success... In Design Your Life, follow Pernille on her journey of personal struggle and triumph. Be with her as she climbs out of her own self-denial and darkest day. Watch her summon the focus and strength within to carve out a life by design and discover a more balanced paradigm of living, one in which success is defined not by how much money we make but by our personal leadership and commitment to ourselves and others.

* Our summary is short, simple and pragmatic. It allows you to have the essential ideas of a big book in less than 30 minutes. By reading this summary, you will learn how to adopt the mentality and techniques of designers to improve your life, especially in the professional field. You will also learn : how to effectively find solutions to all your problems; to free yourself from blocking situations; to become very creative; how to search effectively for a job; how to become immune to failure; to make better decisions. Too many people suffer from unsatisfying personal or professional situations. The designer's mentality is an effective solution to find more fulfilling paths because it is totally adapted to problem solving. Using it to "design one's life" in the same way one creates an object, is not as absurd as it seems, because the techniques used to solve difficulties are the same: being curious, experimenting, reformulating, becoming aware of potential, collaborating with others. The aim of design is to respond in the best possible way to a need. Why not use it to make one's life the best it can be? Everybody needs more happiness, everybody needs more design. *Buy now the summary of this book for the modest price of a cup of coffee!

What would it mean if your perfect life was awaiting your discovery? What if you knew the exact steps that would allow you to discover and achieve this perfect life? And what if you had an Invisible Architect-an all-powerful all-knowing best friend at your beckon call to help you discover, design, and achieve your perfect life? And what if your perfect life has already been achieved and is waiting for you to claim it? This is exactly what award-winning musician/author John Novello offers in the pages of his extraordinary new transformational book, the Invisible Architect. You'll learn that there is indeed a Perfect All-Knowing Power, an Invisible Architect, or to put it in more scientific terms, an Invisible Field of Intelligent Energy that permeates everything that exists, including you and me and all life, matter, energy, space, and time, and is available to us for information, advice, comfort, and assistance in designing our perfect Divine lives. The Invisible Architect is a rare look into the inner world of acclaimed jazz musician/composer/author John Novello by the author himself and based on his discovery of an inner power we all possess but rarely knowingly use. This book was written because of a Divine unsolicited conversation he had with the Invisible Architect one day. Here is the conversation... Invisible Architect: "John, you now need to spread the WORD!" John, confused: "What WORD?" Invisible Architect: "That everybody is one with the Invisible Architect and could be employing this miraculous energy to design their perfect lives from within!" John: "But there are already many books on this subject." Invisible Architect: "True, but not from your unique perspective as a jazz musician who has experienced these wonderful miracles!" End of conversation. And therein lies the genesis of this book. I cannot imagine operating without my mystical friend and advisor-the Invisible Architect. And it is now very clear to me that my duty is to spread the WORD to everyone so that they too can design their perfect lives from within, as long as they understand the spiritual mechanics involved-the relationship between the Universal Energy (the Invisible Architect) and its creations and the interactions thereof. But first you must become aware of the Architect, learn how to consciously commune with and employ the Architect, and finally trust the Architect to manifest your desires as only it knows how! The Invisible Architect is a captivating story of the aspirations and cognitions of the life of a now-famous jazz musician. Enlightening, inspirational, tragic, and miraculous, The Invisible Architect is a self-help program for designing your perfect life from within-the exact process of how our inner world creates our outer world. Spread the WORD...!

From the authors of the #1 New York Times bestseller Designing Your Life comes a revised, fully up-to-date edition of Designing Your New Work Life, a timely, urgently needed book that shows us how to transform our new uncharted work life into a meaningful dream job or company. With practical, useful tools, tips, and design ideas that show us how to navigate disruption (global, regional, or personal) and create new possibilities for our post-COVID work world and beyond. Bill Burnett and Dave Evans successfully taught graduate and undergraduate students at Stanford University and readers of their best-selling book, Designing Your Life ("The prototype for a happy life." —Brian Lehrer, NPR), that designers don't analyze, worry, think, complain their way forward; they build their way forward. And now more than ever, we all need creative and adaptable tools to cope with the chaos caused by COVID-19. In Designing Your New Work Life, Burnett and Evans show us how design thinking can transform our present job, and how it can improve our experience of work in times of disruption. All disruption is personal, write Burnett and Evans, as with the life-altering global pandemic we are living through now. Designing Your New Work Life makes clear that disruption is the new normal, that it is here to stay and that it is accelerating. And in the book's new chapters, Burnett and Evans show us step by step, how to design our way through disruption and how to stay ahead of it—and thrive. Burnett and Evans's Disruption Design offers us a radical new concept that makes use of the designer mindsets: Curiosity, Reframing, Radical collaboration, Awareness, Bias to action, Storytelling, to find our way through these unchartered times. In Designing Your New Work Life, Burnett and Evans show us, with tools, tips, and design ideas, how we can make new possibilities available even when our lives have been disrupted (be it globally, regionally, or personally), giving us the tools to enjoy the present moment and allowing us to begin to prototype our possible future.

Would you like to "change your thinking"?Would you like to "forget your past"? Would you like your horrible night dream to become very nice dreams? Would you like your body pains and suffering to go away? Would you like "luck" come your way? Would you like positive things to happen in mysterious ways in your life more often than not? Then this book is for you. There are two methods given in this book and they will help you to achieve these goals (1) the first method is to control your physical and thinking karma and (2) the second method is a copyright (by me) and it will guide you to "transform your thoughts" from physical-thoughts to non-physical-thoughts (divine/higher-power/God). I did this in 6-9 months. You do it once and then maintain it. When you "transform your thoughts" then you "throw away" your thoughts such that all your thoughts, happy, sad and negative thoughts are thrown away. This way all your thinking goes away. Your mind does not go blank but you replace your mind with non-physical thoughts. Once you have accomplished this then you have "new" thinking without your baggage. You will "forget" your past. At this level, your karma will improve and go positive, and as this happens, your horrible night dreams will become positive. At time moves forward, your body pains will slowly go away. If you get hurt in sports then you will heal faster. This is a very powerful method. As time passes, you may be able to establish communication with divine/higher-power/God and you may begin to receive "bells and whistles" at some point. If this happens then you will be an extremely happy person.

This book is a report of the findings of many years of research and experimentation from various communities worldwide working with natural, drug detox methods. From October 2014 through April 2016, the members of the Facebook group 'Welcome to Heantos' conducted a public, nonclinical trial in which organic detox products from around the world were tested on addicts. Participants were detoxing from a range of substances such as heroin, prescription pain medication, prescription anxiety medication, methadone, suboxone, methamphetamines, amphetamines, cocaine, crack, alcohol, and nicotine. Social media created a communication platform for people across the globe to share information and experiences, the good and the bad. This book is an accumulation of the findings from the experimentation, designed to be a guide for learning how to detox yourself or someone else naturally. There are a range of products and methods used, so it is important to read the entire book before designing your detox. This book is meant to be a resource for which you can plan and execute your detox, doing it as quickly or as slowly as you need to meet your specific needs. These methods are discreet, manageable, affordable, and designed to meet the needs of a modern-day addict. They can be used short- or long-term and can also be used for preventing and coping with relapse and cravings. In this book, I will be sharing the successful components of this eighteen-month nonclinical trial where more than seventy-five people detoxed themselves naturally, most with severe, long-term addictions. I will walk you through the process of preparation, detox, and designing an aftercare plan. My hope for this book is to help lead people out of the darkness of addiction and into the light of reconnecting with the world around them.

If you feel stuck with no idea what you should do next, lifestyle celebrity and TV pioneer Debbie Travis's new book is for you. Drawing on the tough (sometimes hilarious) lessons Debbie learned in her own leap into a new way of living, and a multitude of stories, tips and ideas to jumpstart your dreams, she's created an inspiring roadmap for change. A few years ago, Debbie Travis realized that she was no longer challenged by her wildly successful TV career and she was so busy she was missing out on the people and things that made her happy. She dared to dream about a whole new direction in life--a plan to turn a 13th-century farmhouse in Tuscany into a unique hotel and retreat for people who need a change as much as she did. And now, after a crazy amount of work, she is not only living that dream but sharing it with others. Her new book draws directly on her own experiences (when she started, Debbie could barely make a bed, let alone run a hotel in a foreign county) and the uplifting stories of personal u-turns shared by women who have come to her retreats. Debbie's "commandments" will inspire women (and men) who have lost track of who they are or what they want to be; who are going through the motions of a career that doesn't satisfy them anymore; who are wondering what to do with themselves now that their kids are gone or their marriage is over. On every page, Debbie shares the tools that helped her transform her life, and her example, her wit and her common sense advice will help motivate anyone who finds themselves standing at a crossroads wondering "What's next for me?"
