Don t Be Stupid About Investing Book Excerpt:

Investing is a game. We play with real money. The game is run by people who don't care about you. They want your money. And they know people will invest stupidly if they get enough chances. You need to Think for Yourself. You can win this game, but only if you make good decisions. This is not the same advice you read everywhere else. This is for when you figure out all that commonly accepted BS doesn't work as promised. You don't really think Wall Street has changed, do you? It's your money. You don't have to do what everyone else does. Why not step away from the herd and Think For Yourself? When you're done reading this book, you will be a better investor. We give you the ability to choose your own investments and safely maximize your returns. You can make money for yourself instead of letting everyone else profit from your efforts. Going along with the herd is stupid most of the time, and especially in the world of investing. Why not step away? You are the best source for your answers. No one cares about your money more than you. Question; Do you know your risk free rate of return? Do you use it in your investment decisions? Most people are just shoveling money into things like a 401K because someone told them to do it. Don't be one of them. Use critical thinking and allocate your money to do what is best for you. Note: This book assumes you've read our companion book Don't be Stupid about Money. Understanding money from our point of view helps you make smarter investments. "Street Smart" beats theory every time. We make investing easy. There is no reason for it to be difficult. And there's no reason for you to be another victim of the herd mentality. Why not spend a couple of hours with us and make better decisions forever? You already know that's a good investment. Read now and be wealthier for the rest of your life. HGJ

The Physician s Guide to Investing Book Excerpt:

In comments that were unfortunately prescient, Dr. Doroghazi said in the first edition "the author feels we are currently experiencing a real estate bubble." And in anticipation of the credit crisis, he said "banks are far too lenient in their lending practices...the problem is that bankers are often not lending their own money...considering that a significant percentages of mortgages are sold to Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE), the problem is now actually everyone’s." This new and expanded edition provides commonsense advice that all investors, physicians and non-physicians will find profitable in these difficult times. Learn about the power of thrift, the magnificence of compound interest, the malevolence of debt and the perniciousness of fees. See how to pay off the mortgage by age 45, fund your children’s education and retire at a reasonable age rather than continue to work because you must.

Dividends Still Don t Lie Book Excerpt:

A timely follow-up to the bestselling classic Dividends Don't Lie In 1988 Geraldine Weiss wrote the classic Dividends Don't Lie, which focused on the Dividend-Yield Theory as a method of producing consistent gains in the stock market. Today, the approach of using the dividend yield to identify values in blue chip stocks still outperforms most investment methods on a risk-adjusted basis. Written by Kelley Wright, Managing Editor of Investment Quality Trends, with a new Foreword by Geraldine Weiss, this book teaches a value-based strategy to investing, one that uses a stock's dividend yield as the primary measure of value. Rather than emphasize the price cycles of a stock, the company's products, market strategy or other factors, this guide stresses dividend-yield patterns. Details a straightforward system of investing in stick-to-quality blue-chip stocks with reliable dividend histories Discusses how to buy and sell when dividend yields instruct you to do so Investors looking for safety and transparency will quickly discover how dividends offer the yields they desire With Dividends Still Don't Lie, you'll gain the confidence to make sophisticated stock market decisions and obtain solid value for your investment dollars.

Investing in Innovation Book Excerpt:

Shortly after taking office in 1993, President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore called for a shift in American technology policy toward an expansion of public investments in partnerships with private industry. The authors of this volume were invited by the Clinton administration to take a hard, nonpartisan look at how successful the new policies have been and to propose ways to make their programs more effective. The first summary report of the team's recommendations was called the "hottest technology policy property on Capitol Hill." This book, an expansion of that report, offers a new set of technology policy principles. The authors use the principles to evaluate many federal research programs and to make recommendations for change. This volume will set the terms of the debate over the national research and innovation policy for years to come.

Your First Financial Investment Book Excerpt:

The economy's pain can be your gain. Look, every darrk gray, menacing cloud has a nice big silver lining and the current economic downturn isn't an exception to that rule. Times are tough and people are suffering. The unemployment is ugly and the foreclsoures have been devastating. That steady flow of bad news has created an opportunity for some extremely good news, though. There's a veritable smorgasbord of bargain investment opportunities. Companies that will come back and that will remain a regular feature of the economic landscape are selling for a fraction of what they usually command. And the stocks are just one example. There are investment bargains everywhere right now. You don't need to be an expert to know that the key to making money with investment is to buy low and to sell high. Well, this is one of the most remarkable times to buy low that anyone has seen. You can acquire holdings that may increase substantially in value at low, low prices. That's the silver lining in the current dark economic cloud. You have a chance to take advantage of the recessionary fallout to create your own eventual wealth and to provide for your retirement. But I'm guessing you already knew that. It's interesting, but most people do seem to recognize that the market is full of values at the moment. Nonetheless, they aren't investing. Why? What's holding people back from making smart investment decisions in the this value climate? What's stopping you from buildng a strong investment portfolio? It's not a lack of resources. Anyone (and I mean just about anyone) can find a way to set aside a small amount of money every month to invest. It's not fear, either. I refuse to believe that people are short-circuiting their financial well-being because they fear further economic decline. I think it's common sense. You aren't investing for a very good reason. You don't feel as if you have the necessary background or information to make investments. Most people don't really know a great deal about investing. They make it through high school and, in many cases, through college without ever studying investment or its principles. When they hear people talking about investment and using its terminology, they don't fully understand any of it. That may be you. It probably is you. You're a smart person who knows there's an opportunity for the right person, but who just doesn't feel well-acquainted enough with investments to make a move. That's not stupid and it isn't an act of misguided fear. It's perfectly sane. The bigger question is what you're going to do about it. You can either sit on your hands and let life's great opportunities pass you by or you can take hold of this wonderful investment purchasing climate with both hands. I see it like this: You're staring at a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build personal wealth and to provide for your future. You'd be silly to do nothing. It would be downright irresponsible. It's time to get familiar with investing. This new book provides people who haven't been involved with investment and finance to quickly and easily get themselves up to speed. It covers everyting one would need to know to understand the world of wealth-building and it does the job while remaining easy-to-read and perfectly clear. It takes the intimidation out of the learning process by breaking things down in a way that makes sense and by providing all of the key details in a coherent way. Find it all in "Your First Financial Investment: Understand and unlock the hidden investment secrets" by international financial author H. David King.

Investing and Trading Stocks Book Excerpt:

Note: This is a humor book about stock investing. The advice, although unbelievably sage and accurate, is for entertainment purposes only. Introduction Do you continually lose money in the stock market? My name is Mr. Obvious and I wrote this book to help you. I have studied financial markets and professional traders for multiple minutes at a time. There is one thing that all the great traders and investors have in common. One thing that links people like Jesse Livermore and Warren Buffett. This one thing is the key to being successful in the market and is explained in detail in this book; You are going to need this book. Does thinking about the money you've lost cause you to have any problems with your bladder, including frequent or urgent urination? If so, aside from a scheduled visit to your doctor, you are going to need this book. There are tons of books out there about trading and investing and let's face it, reading them all would be a lot of work. I have carefully analyzed and studied most of those books, in fact, I even read a couple of them all the way through. What I have found is that there is one lesson that is the same in all investing and trading books; one crucial piece of advice that you will need to fully understand to be able to make money in the market. I explain this essential financial building block in this book, step by step. I laid it out so well that I even surprised myself. If you also want to be surprised then you are going to need this book. I almost didn't want to publish this information because it's going to completely revolutionize the face of individual investing. My friends and family persisted that I follow through because they knew that it would help so many people. But I must warn you, the words included in this book are powerful, the equivalent of a financial miracle, and following them will lead to untold riches. If you want to attain unprecedented wealth then you are going to need this book; just don't get too greedy, it isn't very becoming. My professional advice is that you purchase two copies for yourself and a copy for each one of your family members. Replace those copies with additional copies once your original copies are read, get creased, or if the cover is bent in any way. I would also recommend purchasing a copy for all of your friends and even people that you don't know that well. Not only will they love you for it, but they'll respect the hell out of you for it. Once you receive your first copy of the book I would recommend sleeping with it underneath your pillow to let the words and wisdom seep in to your subconscious. I am working on a spoken word edition of the book but due to the volume of material it may take several years to complete. In the meantime, feel free to read it out loud where ever you are, at work, on the bus, or even in a public bathroom. You could also buy a copy just to place on your bookshelf or in your office to make it look like you actual read financial books and know what you're talking about when you start to spout off with your work buddies about some stock you heard on the news but are trying to act like you came up with the whole idea yourself....nice try by the way, but without this book I think they're on to you. To sum it up, you need this book. Don't wait another minute to buy it, if you do you'll regret it and I'll lose some respect for you.
