Description : After years of speaking and writing bestsellers on the value of having a positive attitude, motivational speaker Zig Ziglar is faced with putting his words into action after a fall leaves him with a head injury. In Embrace the Struggle, Ziglar shares a personal account of his accident and offers encouragement through his firsthand experience of overcoming his most difficult challenge. One of the leading stars in the “positive thinking” movement, Zig Ziglar has made a career out of telling people how to have a positive attitude, no matter what their circumstances are. But when a fall down a stairway onto a marble floor leaves him with a head injury, he is challenged with how to put the principles he’d been speaking about into practice. Ziglar’s willingness to be transparent has him back writing and speaking with renewed energy before audiences in the tens of thousands to show that life on life’s terms is still well worth living. Embrace the Struggle affirms the validity of the principles Ziglar has held true his entire life and includes not only his account of living positively through difficult circumstances; it also includes heartwarming stories of real people who encouraged him with how they put into practice these vital principles.
Description : When we learn to embrace the dance with our Creator and Savior, God begins to move mountains in our lives and He begins to restore the years of our youth the locusts have taken away. Consider the nation of Egypt after the seven years of plenty when the seven years of famine began. By the time the famine was over, everything belonged to the Egyptian Pharaoh and everyone and everything was Pharaoh’s possession. It had become a socialistic culture and the government controlled it all. During their times of trial in the seven year famine, that was not the case of the Israelites who had turned to embrace their dance with God. Israel resided in the land of Goshen. God blessed them in a powerful way because they sought divine guidance and provisions from Jehovah. The question we need to ask ourselves today in times of trials; are we going to surrender everything we have to the government expecting hand outs in return, or are we going to the Creator of the universe, who holds the entire universe in the palm of His hand? Louie Giglio said it best in his tour “The Heart of Passion”, when he stated “We serve a Ginormous God!” It is my desire that the reading of this book will restore unto you the years of your life the locusts of sin have taken from you so that you can genuinely embrace the dance with God in a powerful way.

Description : The word "embrace" originates from the Latin term "bracchim" and is referred to as "embracer" in Old French. Embrace means to encircle, surround, enclose. How in much of our lives we embrace certain things we love and places. However, many parts of our lives' circumstances we do not embrace, such as feelings we do not accept, circumstances we reject entirely. In fact, there are certain situations or conditions our society frowns upon that are utterly unacceptable, such as bullying, racism, terrorism and illegal activities. In some cases, due to high expectations and pressures from our society, some tend to violate their own morals by embracing morals that contradict their own, just because our society says to. Sometimes, in some situations, we also allow some individuals to determine what we should or should not embrace in our lives. Allowing others to have total control over oneself could stem from many areas of life, including how one was brought up and changes made along the way.

It's not what you think—happiness is not found in achievement and luxury and having all the free time in the world. Humans are most fulfilled and feel best about themselves when they are striving towards a difficult goal that involves struggle and discomfort. Dr. Adam Fraser is a peak performance researcher who helps people strive for ’better’ in everything that they do; in this book, he shares his insights into the human condition and why happiness always feels just out of reach. Whether you're looking to boost workplace productivity, or just need the motivation to go about your daily life, this book will show you the little-known truths about happiness, purpose, and fulfillment. In working with groups from all around the world, Dr. Fraser has observed that the unhappiest and most unfulfilled people have low levels of struggle and challenge. Too much comfort robs them of a sense of purpose; they have nothing to strive for, because everything is fine the way it is. This book takes you inside the root of human motivation to show you how to live and work toward fulfillment. Grow and evolve through embracing discomfort Reframe struggle as an opportunity for development Learn the three behaviours of striving effectively Discover your motivation—and use it Learn why you are most proud of overcoming the hard things in life When you're working toward a goal, you are engaged, motivated, and ready to take on the world. Once you achieve your goal, your happiness plummets—because nothing is left to strive for—unless you set your next goal right away. Strive provides the roadmap, and shows you how the joy is in the striving—not the destination.
Description : With this purported new 'era of high-profile, mega successful, black women who are changing the face of every major field worldwide' and growing socioeconomic diversity among black women as the backdrop, Embracing Sisterhood seeks to determine where contemporary black women's ideas of black womanhood and sisterhood merge with social class status to shape certain attachments and detachments among them. Similarities as well as variations in how black women of different social backgrounds perceive and live black womanhood are interpreted for a range of social contexts. This book confirms what many of today's African-American women and interested observers have known for some time: Conceptions and experience of black womanhood are quite diverse and appear to have grown more diverse over time. However, the potential for a pervasive and polarizing black 'step-sisterhood' is considerably undermined by the passion with which these women cling to the promises of cross-class gender/ethnic 'community' and of group determination. Embracing Sisterhood draws its analysis from in-depth interviews with eighty-eight contemporary black women aged 18 to 89 covering a variety of issues prompted by a survey questionnaire capturing various dimensions of gender/ethnic identity and consciousness.
