Description : It cannot be decided in advance when expectations will be fulfilled. Therefore, expectations should always be in sync with patience. This is the reason why expectations are often hidden in incomplete dreams, which we never try to understand. This burden is felt by the leading character of the novel when the people of his house ruthlessly question his expectations. Seeing this atmosphere, he starts thinking about his sister’s expectations. The book explores the creation of these expectations and how it leads to a lot of friction.

Description : The ultimate goal of Information Technology (IT) organizations is to provide tools and services which enhance the performance of the end-user. In order for IT to create business value, the technology it provides must be adopted and fully utilized by the targeted end-user group. The degree to which end-user expectations are met has been shown to play a key role in determining effective adoption and use. End-user expectations of IT must be identified and reliably measured in order to be met. To date, there are no well-established, validated, comprehensive measures that capture end-user expectations at the organizational level. This study created a scale to reliably measure end-user expectations at the organizational level at a large technology corporation. Two samples were used, the first to refine items using exploratory factor analysis, the second to validate reliability using confirmatory factor analysis, to assess criterion validity and to identify potential antecedents to end-user expectations using a structural equation model. It was found that end-users have two expectations related to IT: (1) that IT use will result in "Enhanced Work Effectiveness" and (2) that an IT organization should provide a "Relevant, Consistent and Easily Accessible IT Infrastructure". Results suggest that type of expectation does not meaningfully impact "Satisfaction"; however, the degree to which an individual's expectation is confirmed does. Expectation type was shown to impact system-use behavior: The greater the expectation for enhanced work effectiveness, the more likely it is end-users will engage in productivity-enhancing behaviors. Conversely, the more end-users see the role of IT as supporting them as employees (as opposed to enhancing their work output) by providing a "Relevant, Consistent and Easily Accessible IT Infrastructure", the less likely they are to engage in productivity-enhancing behavior.

Description : This paper argues that the U.S. economy's recovery from the Great Depression was driven by a shift in expectations brought about by the policy actions of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. On the monetary policy side, Roosevelt abolished the gold standard and - even more important - announced the policy objective of inflating the price level to pre-depression levels. On the fiscal policy side, Roosevelt expanded real and deficit spending. Together, these actions made his policy objective credible; they violated prevailing policy dogmas and introduced a policy regime change such as that described in work by Sargent and by Temin and Wigmore. The economic consequences of Roosevelt's policies are evaluated in a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model with sticky prices and rational expectations.

Description : n the aftermath of the financial crisis, why has the reform process been incremental yet the conditions for more rapid and abrupt transformations appeared to be available? Is there anything specific about financial policy that prevents more radical reforms? Drawing from Comparative Politics and Historical Institutionalism in particular, as well as International Political Economy, this book answers these questions by examining the particular institutional frictions that characterise global financial governance and influence the activity of change agents and veto players involved in the process of global regulatory change. The chapters in this volume collectively demonstrate that the process of change in financial rule-making as well as in the institutions governing finance does not fit with the punctuated model of policy change. The book also shows, however, that incremental changes can lead to fundamental shifts in the basic principles that inform global financial governance.

Description : Besides different preconditions for educational success in native and migrant families, an important role has been ascribed to students’ educational aspirations in the explanation of ethnic disparities in educational attainment. Based on a sample of several hundred 9th and 10th graders in Hamburg, the study investigates the dimensions along which native and migrant students construct their educational and future career aspirations and expectations at the end of compulsory full-time education. The results provide insight into the applicability of traditional approaches that investigate the mechanisms that shape social disparities in education to explain the ethnic attainment gap, and into the controversial meaning of subjective data in the form of respondent-reported educational aspirations and the interpretation of higher aspirations in migrant families as secondary effects of ethnic origin.

Description : A customer who complains is saying, "If only you will correct the situation, I will continue doing business with you." Seeing our organizations as our customers do is critical to achieving excellence. "Triple Customer Complaints" helps determine how customers define excellence and establishes quantifiable ways to improve processes in order to meet - and exceed - customer expectations. Written for executives and process owners facing the real-world challenge of creating and keeping customers, it shows readers: 1) How to walk in the customers' shoes to identify which quality and operational performance measures should be tracked. 2) How to define all aspects of a process as perceived by customers using a structured roadmap. 3) How to use process qualification to achieve early, measurable results. 4) How to create a complaint management system that vacuums up all valid customer complaints. 5) How to identify and map an organization's processes to ensure that the customer's point of view is primary.

Description : Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: In a highly competitive business world, differentiation is an essential key to success for companies. Branding has been a long discussed method to create such a necessary competitive advantage, however an effective and smart branding approach is necessary to ensure success, as the quote of Richard Branson shows. The American company Persona International, offering consulting tools and methodologies to their licensees, recognizes the importance of branding to stay ahead of competitors. Thus, it was decided to launch a branding initiative. The branding strategy Managing the Customer Experience by Smith and Wheeler was chosen by Persona, which is also sold in form of a tool designed by Shaun Smith, called Customer Experience Management CEM . The idea behind this theory is to establish and reinforce a brand by offering the customer an unforgettable experience with the product or service of the company. Consequently, the brand promise is developed on basis of the customer expectations. As for Persona, two kinds of customers exist, one being their direct partners and the other being the clients of the partners, who are the end-users of the tools. It was decided that the branding initiative should be focused on the partners first, as they are mostly also aware of the needs and expectations of their clients. However, the expectations of some end-users were to be explored by surveys to round up the view on the customer expectations. Is the Customer Experience Management (CEM) theory an optimized approach to branding or can any issues be identified which could be improved? How could any highlighted shortcomings be overcome? The following work examines these questions closer and analyzes them by means of literature and a critical examination in order to find responses and solutions for the posed questions. The link to the business world is established through the empirical testing of the brand development phase. Hereby a part of the CEM theory is applied and expert interviews and end-user surveys are conducted. The aim of the critical evaluation of the branding strategy of Smith and Wheeler is to validate the branding approach and to find suggestions for possible improvements of the CEM theory and by testing one suggestion to facilitate the implementation of an optimized branding strategy for Persona. Having set the aim of this thesis, the second chapter gives an introduction to branding in order to equip the reader with a [...]
