Description : A myth with the power to destroy the world… Katelina has barely recovered from the chaos of Malick’s revolt, yet she and Jorick must go to Munich to testify before the True Council. To make matters worse, they’re assigned an entourage that includes Verchiel, a vampire Katelina never wants to see again. Her hatred is forgotten when Malick and his henchmen penetrate the stronghold in Munich. Instead of returning home, Jorick leads them on a quest to reclaim the Heart of the Raven. Said to be the disembodied heart of Lilith, the relic may be more reality than myth, and if it falls into the wrong hands it could have disastrous consequences for the world. Can they reach its hiding place before Malick? The fifth installment of the Amaranthine series sees Jorick and Katelina draw closer as they surround themselves with old allies and new friends to outwit the machinations of the ancient master. Katelina will have to draw on her inner strength if she wants to survive because there’s no room for the fainthearted in a world where darkness is eternal and the night tastes like blood. Collector's Edition contains the Heart of the Raven Mini-Prologue Collection.

When Katelina accepted her new life with Jorick – a life of night and vampires - she left behind a worried mother and an abandoned apartment, but a trip home does more harm than good. As they dodge enemies, a pair of cold eyes appear in the background. Though no one else seems to notice, Katelina is sure that someone – or something – is stalking them. Who could it be? Is it one of The Guild’s legion? Or is it something to do Verchiel, a strange vampire who seems suspiciously eager to befriend them? The terror follows even when Katelina is taken to The Guild against her will. Though Jorick follows, even he can only do so much in the face of the ancient master, Malick. Will they be punished for the trouble they’ve caused, or does Malick have other plans? In Ties of Blood, events are set into motion whose consequences will echo across the future. Description : The eighth book in the Amaranthine series plunges back into darkness, steeped in superstitions and death, where vampires are once again vicious creatures of the night. After three months away, Katelina and Jorick return home. But, so does Sarah, Katelina's best friend everyone thought was dead. How did she survive being tortured - and killed - by vampires? Though Sarah's not eager to share the details, Katelina knows it's the kind of story that leaves scars. She almost welcomes the distraction when they're sent to guard an exclusive vampire party - until Sarah claims she's being stalked. Who among the ancient guests would be interested in them? Then they find a dead child with a missing heart, just like the murders in the Heartless killings. Is the serial killer a vampire - and a guest at the party? Could it have anything to do with their stalker, or is it simply too much evil in one place? It's hard to tell who the culprit is when everyone seems suspicious, but they'd better figure it out before they end up with a dagger between their ribs - or a chandelier on their heads. Includes the Thirteen Guests short story collection.

Description : Beowulf is the conventional title of an Old English heroic epic poem consisting of 3182 alliterative long lines, set in Scandinavia, commonly cited as one of the most important works of Anglo-Saxon literature. It survives in a single manuscript known as the Nowell Codex. Its composition by an anonymous Anglo-Saxon poet is dated between the 8th and the early 11th century. In 1731, the manuscript was badly damaged by a fire that swept through a building housing a collection of Medieval manuscripts assembled by Sir Robert Bruce Cotton. The poem's existence for its first seven centuries or so made no impression on writers and scholars, and besides a brief mention in a 1705 catalogue by Humfrey Wanley it was not studied until the end of the eighteenth century, and not published in its entirety until the 1815 edition prepared by the Icelandic-Danish scholar Grímur Jónsson Thorkelin. In the poem, Beowulf, a hero of the Geats in Scandinavia, comes to the help of Hroðgar, the king of the Danes, whose mead hall (in Heorot) has been under attack by a monster known as Grendel. After Beowulf slays him, Grendel's mother attacks the hall and is then also defeated. Victorious, Beowulf goes home to Geatland in Sweden and later becomes king of the Geats. After a period of fifty years has passed, Beowulf defeats a dragon, but is fatally wounded in the battle. After his death, his attendants bury him in a tumulus, a burial mound, in Geatland. The numerous different translations and interpretations of Beowulf turn this monumental work into a challenge for the reader.

These sixteen tales include Poe's only novel 'Arthur Gordon Pym', which is filled with fantastical thoughts on life at the south polar region. 'The Unparalleled Adventures of Hans Pfall' involves space travel and aliens, 'Some Words with a Mummy' explores the realm of alternate history and suspended animation, while 'Eureka' introduces the big bang theory eighty years before its time. Known for his tales of horror, Edgar Allan Poe shaped the building blocks of science fiction. His scientific speculation was based on mid-nineteenth century theories and understandings, but he took them to levels that no one had ever dreamed possible. Poe's stories inspired Jules Verne and H. G. Wells to dream beyond the limits of science and technology, and they are essential to an understanding of the roots of science fiction. The collection includes: Queen of the WildwoodCurse of the HealerLord of the CastleHeart of the RavenSecrets of the Lore KeepersBride of the KingWhat others are saying about Tales of the Enchanted Wildwood ★★★★★ "A very short read that both disturbs and leaves you wanting to know more about this world. It is a character driven story in a richly imagined world." - Amazon Review ★★★★★ "I was riveted to the story and found it dark, yet enchanting and would dearly love to read further into the story of Yula and Aelbrin, my only complaint being that this was such a short story as I did not want it to end." - Amazon Review ★★★★★ "It was a quick and compelling read. A dark faerie tale with a romance that didn't feel cheesy or out of place." - Amazon Review ★★★★★ "Ford has packed an incredible amount of world-building into 60-odd pages without compromising that fairy tale pace. I definitely want to read more of this world!" - Amazon Review★★★★★ "It had fantasy, magic and just the right amount of steaminess." - Amazon Review★★★★★ "This story is reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast in a twisted, upside down, through the looking glass sort of way. There are elements from the traditional tale, such as the whispering spirits, the scarred Lord, and the vicious mob but not in the way they are traditionally used. A story of redemption and purpose in a broken world. There is romance and it does get steamy at the end." - Amazon Review★★★★★ "This story reminded me of the beloved fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast and I am a real sucker for stories where love conquers all and this is one such story!" - Amazon Review★★★★★ "The relationship building in this forbidden romance was truly amazing. Beautifully told story full of magic and the unexpected." - Amazon Review★★★★★ "I was blown away by the beauty of this tale, of magic, hope and love and the need all of us have to belong as did our two lost souls, who found one another." - Amazon Review
