Description : Create a calm bedtime ritual with this debut book in the Before Bedtime series, Stars Before Bedtime – a soothing journey through the glittering constellations of the night sky woven with tried-and-true sleep exercises from the best-selling author and clinical psychologist Dr. Jessamy Hibberd. In this fast-paced world, relaxing and preparing for sleep can be difficult for children. This beautiful, fact-filled book helps ease bedtime struggles with mindfulness, muscle relaxation, gentle yoga poses, visualization, and other exercises proven to help kids release stress and anxiety, clear their minds, get ready for bed, and fall asleep faster while also boosting happiness and improving overall health. With gentle, calming artwork from the wonderfully talented Hannah Tolson and simple, melodic text, children explore the sky’s constellations and the mythical stories behind them as they get their minds and bodies ready for bed. Each exercise, called out by a moon symbol, is simple and easy to do. Usher in calm with these and more soothing techniques: Stretch out on your bed like the snake-like constellation Draco the Dragon—take a deep breath in through your nose and then breathe out all the air through your mouth, making a hissing sound, just like a slithering snake! Close your eyes and picture the ship from the constellation Argo Navis in your head. Now climb on board and let’s go on an adventure. You are the captain of the ship. Maybe you’ll dream of floating through a moonlit sky on broad wings, like Aquila the Eagle. Or perhaps you’ll drift down a glittering stream with Cygnus the Swan. Hold your hands together just like Castor and Pollux, the twins of the constellation Gemini. Rest them on your chest—can you feel your breath moving in and out as your chest rises and falls? The pages are self-contained so you can start anywhere and complete as many, or as few, exercises as you like. Join your child as they complete the exercises—you might just find something that works for you, too. Tips on mindfulness and extra resources for parents are included at the back of the book. Stargazers of all ages will love this journey through constellations. Good sleep is essential for growing brains. Each beautifully illustrated book in the Before Bedtime series helps curious children prepare for sleep by uniting a different intriguing non-fiction topic with sleep-inducing mindfulness exercises; an effective alternative to the traditional bedtime story. Fascinating facts are paired with guided relaxation techniques inspired by the topic for a peaceful routine that not only leaves bedtime battles far behind but equips children for success in a hectic world.

Description : Explores how women can heal deep emotional pain through a new therapeutic approach that combines mindfulness meditation with psychotherapy. • Includes 8 vivid stories of women overcoming great emotional pain and life obstacles through Mindfulness Psychotherapy. • Each story is followed by a discussion and a relevant mindfulness meditation. As a result of her years of working with women as a psychotherapist, Barbara Miller Fishman developed the discipline of Mindfulness Psychotherapy--a combination of mindfulness meditation and psychotherapy that, taken together, describe a path toward wholeness. Now she presents the integration of her life's work through the poignant stories of eight women--all faced with critical decisions and tough life circumstances--and how they used Mindfulness Psychotherapy to attain greater levels of peace and well-being. The author offers a radical shift in a woman's relationship to life. Readers will discover the importance of naming a life problem, accepting the "is-ness" of it, developing a matter-of-fact curiosity, and exploring the mind/body reactions that we call emotional pain. The path continues as the reader creates an observing self and discovers the deep compassion that ultimately heals. Once learned, these six awareness practices can be used to face difficult situations, discover self-acceptance, and release the love needed to reside fully in one's whole self.

Description : Plagued by anxiety and depression for much of his twenties and early thirties, Ed Halliwell frantically searched for ways to understand and relieve his distress. Eventually he stumbled on meditation and Buddhism, and discovered a path that was different from the other medical, psychological and spiritual cures he had tried. That path was mindfulness and the deeper he went into the practice the more it transformed his life, easing his depression and helping him see each moment as precious. A one-time editor for FHM magazine, Ed's life has changed radically - he now teaches mindfulness to others. In this book, Ed explores how mindfulness can help us see and transform our unhelpful biases and habits, enable us to live more at peace with stress and uncertainty, cultivate cheerfulness and compassion, and help us to find our life's calling - if we are willing to journey to the heart of the practice. Offering his own experiences as inspiration, Ed emphasises that mindfulness training is a lifelong path and complete way of being rather than just a short course or quick fix. With practical advice and refreshing candour, he explores how working with the realities of our minds, bodies and day-to-day existence - rather than striving for positive results - can, paradoxically, help us rediscover a richly nourishing, deeply-textured life.

Description : The book is about me becoming able to figure out the beauty of the source. Our creative potential is endless. We enjoy our creative process and are willing to use all our will to manifest our dreams. But one thing is missing. We don’t know how to receive the creation where we are included with our creative power. To receive creation, we want to be aligned with the universe by dissolving the ego and the barriers that lie between us and unconditional love. When we are aligned with the universe, we are relaxed. Our relaxation allows us to catch the creation with wonderment. And here, we enter the world of fascination, enchantment, splendor. It seems our life is a gift from a higher entity. We all are benefited with the gift, but we don’t know about the endless possibilities of the gift. We don’t know it because we don’t know how to receive the creation in our hearts. In my book, I described who we are in creation and how we can be intimate with the creation to make us free from the sarcastic world. This book is a metaphor. It is all about what works for us and what doesn’t work for us. We literally can liberate ourselves if we are able to harness the management of relationships with God and all living beings surrounding us. This is not a religious book. It is all spirituality and how we are already being benefited with spirituality without even knowing it. I just tried to make a bridge over the gap of ignorance. I realized something, and I am asking others to realize the same thing so they can be free as me.
