Description : The author used some of his newly created poems in this book, alternating them with Prose in the form of thoughts, memories, reflections, and fanciful extrapolations. Some of those segments dealt with memories and autobiographical episodes. Other parts represent the author’s philosophical reactions to works on scientific topics he read, mostly in the fields of Physics and cosmology. Interspersed are elements of subjects relating to the lore reflected in theological currents and religious beliefs he encountered in his earlier life. His thoughts are presented in the theses he advances but are often meant in a “tongue-in-cheek” mode.

The prose is a combination of flashbacks to the author's post-war University years in Germany based on the diaries he kept during that time. The author engages in some remarks he titles "Philosophical-ethical sketches", numbered I to VI. The main text deals with some of his ideas regarding the fields of sciences such as physics and cosmology along with his own position regarding those, which he calls "transcendental" all of it wrapped in his usual "tongue-in-cheek" mode of writing.

Description : Sober Reflections is a collection of 83 poems. It is divided into three phases: Episode I (1993 - 1999). This section has 37 poems. Episode II (2000 - 2006) has 32 poems, while Episode III (2007 - 2008) has 14 poems. Each of these episodes is an account or a description of a phase in time, an event, a situation or period of time in the poet's experience in life that is important or interesting in some way which the poet wishes to communicate to his readership. As the title of the anthology implies, it is a poet's reflection on experiences over periods of time or happenstances of life. In Sober Reflections, there is a unique feature that cuts across the whole poems and which holds the reader spell bound - the poet's use of simple diction, which enhances good understanding and motivates the reader to read onto the end of each poem and the anthology at large. His "poetic diction" which includes words, phrases, length and complexity of sentences, or choice of words are not abstract; not far-fetched or bookish. They are current in the ordinary conversation of the time. His deliberate use of simple words, features, analogies and images drive home his messages more concretely. The background of these poems and the subject of creativity are quite local and familiar - his childhood experience, village life, River Benue, Africa, etc., even help drive home his message more pointedly as opposed to abstract settings. Poems that deal with historical times and the poet's emotions such as; When I was a boy; Dookenger; I need you; I am in love, and a host of others, are very local and familiar. Natural imageries employed are quite apt and make for easy understanding of the poems.

Description : 155 Poems A reflection is a distorted rendition of that which casts the reflection. A reflection is a mirrored image that defies the physics of its counterpart. A reflection is a chance to appreciate something, in a different light. I have previously released books 1 & 2 for my "From the Mind & Imagination of J.B. Frost" series, but something wasn't right. As I looked back on the content, and the timing, I realized I had to assemble a better assortment of my poetry that would better appeal to the poetry market. This E-Book edition of "Poetry Reflections" contains many of my poems from my first two books, and several new ones that were originally slated to be in book #3 of my earlier-mentioned series. In my study of poets through the ages, I've learned that most had written things that never made it to print, or put out for public inspection and/or approval. I had taken a more daring road in my first two poetry ventures, and included just about everything I've written over the last few years. I wanted a collection that best mirrors the more positive messages I've written. I wanted a better representative of who I am as a writer, and as a person. I believe poetry is therapy, and I believe we all can benefit from its sessions. I hope you enjoy my work.

Description : This groundbreaking study offers an innovative critical analysis of poetry as a resource for reflective practice in the context of continuing professional development. In the contemporary drive in all professions for greater rigour in education, training, and development, little attention is paid to the inner shape of learning and meaning-making for individuals and groups, especially ways in which individuals are formed for the task of their work. Building on empirical research into the author’s professional practice, the book takes the use of poetry in clergy continuing ministerial development as a case-study to examine the value of poetry in professional learning. Setting out the advantages and limitations of poetry as a stimulant for imaginative, critical reflexivity, and formation within professional reflective practice, the study develops a practical model for group reflection around poetry, distilling pedagogical approaches for working effectively with poetry in continuing professional development. Drawing together a number of strands of thinking about poetry, Practical Theology, and reflective practice into a tightly argued study, the book is an important methodological resource. It makes available a range of primary and secondary sources, offering researchers into professional practice a model of ethnographic research in Practical Theology which embraces innovative methods for reflexivity and theological reflection, including the value of auto-ethnographic poetry.
