Danny provides uniques insights and practical advice gleaned from challenges that are still fresh. A must-read for anyone seriously considering serving overseas." Michael Peterson Co-Founder/Director, MissionSake “If you sense God has called you to take the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to another culture, I highly recommend you purchase and read Danny Lamastra’s Pursuing the Call. He draws from his experience as a missionary to El Salvador to provide easy to understand and essential to follow principles to get to the mission field, overcome common challenges, and stay healthy for a lifetime of effective service.” Alan Ehler Dean, Southeastern University’s Barnett College of Ministry and Theology “Unfair! That's what I felt after reading Danny's book. It was unfair that I did not have such a book when my wife and I embarked on our missionary journey. We would have avoided many mistakes, been much more prepared, or learned things much quicker. This book will be a blessing to countless numbers, and help smooth their transition to wherever the Lord may be leading them." Dave Flynn Latin America Team Leader, Center for Mission Mobilization

Description : The New Millennium Missionary: Passionately Pursuing the Call of God is a story of adventure in prayer and faith demonstrated in the market place where people live and interact with God on a daily basis. It captures the workings of God in uncanny ways that provoke a desire to seek God on a personal level. The story portrays the power of God to work out his plan in any institution outside the church as long as he has willing partners. The New Millennium Missionary is an ample demonstration that God desires to use anyone who is available in and outside the four walls of the church. It blends historical interactions of God with tribes and nations resulting in what we read as history today all encapsulated in the experiences of one woman who is raised from brokenness to the global mission field. A call to intercession coincides with the new millennium with specific mandates to pray for people like Andrae` Crouch, going into companies to decree the word of God. In the process of receiving the mandate to pray and intercede, opposition manifests with cruel intensity from beginning to end but victory is realized in that the author lives to tell the story. It is also a book of history as it looks at the Zimbabwean tribal history and its impact on the worship of God. The challenge of traditional institutions and their impact on the well being of an individual in the quest to worship one God when the environment throws many facets of of worship bringing a clash over the choices. The New Millennium Missionary is also a book that blends views of continental Africa and Diaspora Africa through individual experiences of fear, ignorance of how emancipated African slaves and colonized Africans can embrace without reviving the pains of history. It is clear in the book that an individual can make a difference through determination and submission to God through prayer.Prayer can take many years but there will be an answer one day, hence the character of a person is developed in the furnace of pain and uncertainty that are sharpened to eventually anchor on faith as the realization is made that the principles of God's dealings with man never change from generation to generation. Can one sector of society suffer more than others; this book examines the powerless state of the girl child in the face of modern day spiritual slavery of the spiritual spouse. It is one thing to seek deliverance for individual freedom but when it is an institutionalized practice, how does a single person fight for liberty against a governmental system?

Description : The ONLY way to find abundant life and happiness is to give your life away. If God designed us to experience true happiness and abundant life, why do so many Christians feel dissatisfied and purposeless? We try to make our lives better by chasing our own dreams, but that only makes the problem worse. Instead, the path to a just life that’s satisfying and permeated with meaning leads us alongside the orphan, the widow, and the powerless. Using clear evangelical theology and compelling narratives drawn from two decades of global ministry and travel, Ken Wytsma, the founder of The Justice Conference, shows God’s unchanging love for all His children. On the way, the author calls us back to a proper understanding of biblical justice, a redeeming glimpse into the true meaning of righteousness and the remarkable connection between our own joy, the joy of others, and the wondrous Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pursuing Justice shows that God isn’t primarily concerned with personal piety but about empowering His children to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with their creator. The message is as hopeful as it is fresh: when you discover anew the meaning of the Gospel and give your life away, you will find it...and it will be the best life you can imagine. First-time author Wytsma (with an assist from Jacobsen) is one of the new breed of evangelical Christians returning to scripture to redeem justice as a central tenet of faith.... Wytsma infuses his writing with fresh experiences from working with the millennial generation.... “Apathy tells us that it’s perfectly acceptable to live with illusions of our own justice,” he writes, neatly linking those concerns. This accessible guide provides trustworthy scriptural analysis, examples of contemporary justice issues...and a solid philosophy for understanding the role of justice in today’s society.... “Justice cannot be divorced from God’s heart and purposes,” he writes. “It permeates them.” Wytsma’s authorial voice is engaging, encouraging, and invitational. His humor helps the reader recognize her own humanity and transformative potential within the unfolding moral arc of the universe. --Publishers Weekly “Justice has become trendy. Ken Wytsma’s Pursuing Justice avoids all the pitfalls of trendiness. It exhibits a deep and accurate understanding of the nature of justice. It is an eye–opener.” —NICHOL AS WOLTERSTORFF, Noah Porter Professor Emeritus of Philosophical Theology, Yale University; Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture, University of Virginia “Ken is a fresh voice of balance, humility, and collaboration. His enthusiasm is contagious and his challenge to the church to not only do justice, but to learn to do it well, is commendable.” —KEITH WRIGHT, International President of Food for the Hungry “Ken Wytsma’s Pursuing Justice will rattle you. Not since C. S. Lewis put down his pen have readers been so provoked to think. It will change the way you approach others.” —KAREN SPEARS ZACHARIAS, Author ofA Silence of Mockingbirds and Will Jesus Buy Me a Double-Wide? “Ken Wytsma not only brings us back to a biblical understanding of justice, but also humbly calls us to pursue it in practice. I was both enlightened and motivated.” —RANDAL ROBERTS, President of Western Seminary, Portland, OR “In Pursuing Justice, Ken is at the cutting edge of where God’s heart is. This book is timely and needs to be read by everyone in the church.” —JOHN M . PERKINS, Civil Rights Leader, Founder of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA), and Founder of The John Perkins Foundation for Reconciliation and Development

As a success-driven Harvard student, Tom figured he was headed for a lucrative career in corporate business. But then God called him to a life he never expected. Along the way he saw how God had been guiding his journey all along. Our challenge today is that we too easily settle for less than God intends for us. We prefer comfort and avoid risks. But we live in an era of unprecedented opportunities for God's global mission. If we are willing to embrace a life of adventure, we too can discover the radical ways God can use us to bless the nations. So step up and answer the call. And God will surprise you beyond all imagination.

Three boys: Absalom, Noah, and Tommy. A little girl named Layla Belle who was in their lives for only a moment in time but made a huge impact for the Kingdom of God. Daniel also serves as minister to a small Presbyterian congregation that has roots in the basement of his home. One morning on Christmas day, the congregation experience a miraculous healing from the Holy Spirit, which catapults growth and positive directions in serving the community of Luray, for years to come. Absalom Greenwood catches a vision for serving the Lord early on in his life following the patterns of his mom and dad! Serving in a ministry that’s very entertaining, to say the least. At the age of eighteen, walking away from his faith, Absalom becomes a statistic, joining the 85 percent of his companions raised in Christian homes who never give the Bible or God a second thought. They work hard pursuing the American Dream and worshipping everything but the Lord. Many years later, when Annabelle is seventy-seven years of age, she rises to her finest hour, calling out to her son, pleading for him to return to his faith. Will Absalom hear the call and make the decision to turn his life toward God? The story spans from the early 1960s all the way to 2009, with many interesting people to meet along the way. You may see yourself along the journey. So I ask that you examine your hearts and minds. Confirm your calling and election sure for Christ. He loves you! 2 36

Description : "Beyond a Whistle and a Prayer will forever change the way you look at sports and coaching. Society advocates sports as a means to instill virtue and character in our youth. But we all know that the system is broken to a large extent - from youth sports through college, and beyond. Too many coaches and parents are driven by the scoreboard, the win-at-all costs model. Is it any wonder that 70% of kids drop out of sports by age 12? Many of us remember the words and actions of coaches for a lifetime. What memories are you leaving with your athletes? Chris helps us make sense of why sports are broken and how they can be restored as a tool to positively impact lives. It all centers on coaches being transformed by biblical truths and implementing practical tools so they can field competitive teams while also loving their athletes well. Join the journey and learn to coach with joy." -Gilbert Tuhabonye: Author of This Voice in My Heart; 8-time NCAA All-American; Distance Running Coach

Description : In the fall of 1964, Trappist monk Thomas Merton prepared to host an unprecedented gathering of peace activists. "About all we have is a great need for roots," he observed, "but to know this is already something." His remark anticipated their agenda--a search for spiritual roots to nurture sound motives for "protest." This event's originality lay in the varied religious commitments present. Convened in an era of well-kept faith boundaries, members of Catholic (lay and clergy), mainline Protestant, historic peace church, and Unitarian traditions participated. Ages also varied, ranging from twenty-three to seventy-nine. Several among the fourteen who gathered are well known today among faith-based peace advocates: the Berrigan brothers, Jim Forest, Tom Cornell, John Howard Yoder, A. J. Muste, and Merton himself. During their three days together, insights and wisdom from these traditions would intersect and nourish each other. By the time they parted, their effort had set down solid roots and modeled interreligious collaboration for peace work that would blossom in coming decades. Here for the first time, the details of those vital discussions have been reconstructed and made accessible to again inspire and challenge followers of Christ to confront the powers and injustices of today.

Description : This book is my life story, as a Coptic Christian, raised in Egypt. Where no one from my family has ever moved away for thousands of years through the rise and falls of ancient pharaohs and deep roots of ancient Christianity. It is also the story of my parents raising 10 children since 1953 in an environment of extreme poverty where resources and opportunities were limited with unrelenting prejudice towards Christian minorities. So, I came to the United States, the land of opportunity, and became a prominent American neurosurgeon among the only 4000 active nationwide and the only one nationally and internationally to achieve five board certifications in five acknowledged medical disciplines. I continue to practice and serve the mission set before me. My home land was once prosperous and rich in history. Over the centuries, it joined the downfall of the majority of the developing countries of the world through its economic crises and injustices to many. It was the land for the fathers of early Christians and the foundation for worldwide Christians. Now the Coptic Christians are considered a minority constituting a mere 10% of the population and are joining the exodus of ancient Christians from their native African continent. This book chronicles my journey from the land of history, the land of my birth, to the land of opportunity, America. It outlines the socioeconomic and political changes that Egypt has seen over the last century. It is my hope that others may find inspiration and understanding of my culture through reading this book. I owe it all to Christ, the Lord, my cherished parents, my family and friends, my teachers, my mentors, and especially my beloved patients.

Description : Rediscovering the role God designed for the church in mission is a critical issue facing the missions movement today. That role is to glorify God by planting churches among every tongue, tribe, and nation. Planting churches amid unreached peoples is a complex process. It calls forth every ministry gift and the contribution of every believer. Imagine a businessman, a construction worker, a schoolteacher, and an engineer all working together to support the development of a local church amongst an unreached people group in another part of the world. Most Christians will not leave home and go elsewhere to minister. If they are to participate in God's global mission, they must be affirmed, developed and released right where they live, in the context of their local church. This book shows how churches can become centers of mission vision and implementation and so accomplish God's design for the local church.

Description : THE CASE FOR HOLINESS is borne out of the personal struggles of the author to live a holy life. This book will open the eyes of readers to the invaluable benefits of living a holy life and will educate the reader on why it is impossible for anyone to fulfill God's plan for his/her life without holiness. Every child of God must strive to live a life of holiness because holiness glorifies God, and because that is what we want to do for a God who loves us, who is so merciful to our unrighteousness and, if we sincerely repent, does not remember our sins and lawless deeds any more (Hebrews 8:12). This book will not only provoke you to love God more, to seek Him more, to desire Him more, and to adore Him more than ever before. It will definitely influence, inspire and empower you to commit to pursuing the Holiness of God. Also, this book is a must read because Holiness denies satan the access he seeks to steal, to kill, and to destroy us and those around us. Further, the bible teaches us that a new heaven and a new earth shall soon replace the present heaven and earth. The holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband is about to be revealed. In the holy city, there will be neither tears nor death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any pain (Revelation 21:1-4). And nothing unholy shall be allowed to enter the new city. Therefore, for us who are preparing for that holy city, holiness is not an option but a necessity. Because “without holiness, no one can see God.” Hebrews 12:14.

Description : Have you ever have you ever met somebody who always ended up on top no matter how bad the circumstances were. Have you ever seen somebody go through the worst experience but somehow made it through to the other side. True Victory is not defined by avoiding defeat but overcoming and enduring it. True Victory isn't fleeting but lifelong. A truly victorious person isn't someone who just wins a battle but someone who conquers the war. Well, Jesus has already won the War and he holds the keys to victory. With the keys to victory we are promised Victory every time, however Victory is a faith process. I once heard it said that you can either give a man a fish and satisfy him for a meal or you can teach him to fish and satisfy him for a lifetime. When I was fifteen years old when God taught me victory. When God taught me the principles and the process of victory I knew that I had obtained something invaluable... ever since then there has been no battle in my life lost, or no defeat that ever has been able to hold me.Join me as I revisit the vision of victory and dive into a prophetic, faith filled experience where God literally visited me on the track in a high school race and called me into ministry mid stride. I first wrote this Testimony in my Journal at fifteen years old. Self published the story in college and sold copies at conferences. Now I bring the third edition of this true Testimony to you! Follow me through the process of this promise, I believe the keys and lessons in this book will inspire and empower you to overcome some of your most challenging trials.
