Thrill a college student or school pupil at the beginning of the school year, spoil your sweetheart with a motivational gift at Christmas, or surprise your best friend with an original birthday gift. HOW TO USE Each daily entry consists of two parts: Giving gratitude Tasks to be completed Gratitude Gratitude is such a powerful emotion. Being grateful can make your life better in so many ways. It's rather difficult to feel depressed or sorry for yourself when you are feeling gratitude. So why write? When you write down what are you grateful for, you not only count your blessings, you also affirm that thought inside you. Write down at least 3 things are you grateful for in each entry. It can be anything from your spouse, the air you are breathing, or even just how lucky you are to be on Earth! Task Planner (Ivy Lee Method For Productivity) This is the second part of the daily entry. - Write out a list of five to six important tasks that need to be completed during the day. You can write down less than this number, but no more than six items. - After writing out the five or six items of most importance, rearrange them or mark them in order of how truly important they are. - You begin by completing the task of most importance and refuse to move onto any other item until that one is completed. - Once the first task is done, you continue to move down the prioritized list. - If at the end of the day, you find you have any items that you were unable to complete, the move them onto the list for the following day. Continue to make these lists at the end of each workday, so that they are ready for you at the beginning of the following day.

Description : Two police officers that did stints in detectives decided they wanted to go back to a front line/first responder status in the department. There is a notable age difference between them but due to similar attitudes and motivations they became friends years ago. By choice they end up on the same patrol squad, with the older as the others supervisor. The two no matter how hard they try and sometimes no matter how hard they try not to, get into very dangerous, frustrating and sometimes even comedic situations. Unfortunately being a police officer isn’t very popular in current times. These officers were active in the mid 90’s and the public was a little more supportive but police administrations weren’t necessarily so. No matter what the era, persons in higher stations do not want to lose their positions due to the actions of over zealous underlings. These two keep trying to do things right and the right things, but due to some frail human qualities and a thing called Murphy’s Law, things do not usually end very well for them. If you have any sense of right and wrong or what’s fair and what isn’t, you should find yourself cheering and hoping they will survive and over come all adversities. If not you may be more pragmatic and think they are morons and should have known better. Because, realistically they have no one else to blame but each other, for putting themselves in those positions. Judge for yourself.

With her gift for compassion and insight, Fortesa's poems are at once both gentle and cutting. "I used to not really enjoy reading poetry. Then I discovered Fortesa Latifi's poetry, and that changed completely. I identify with so many of her poems. Each one of them evokes a particular emotion or memory. She manages to write in a way that's simplistic, but beautiful. I can't recommend her poetry enough!" -Alyssa Vandenberg

Description : A story of two childhood friends on a roadtrip. One intends to pick up an antique car for his father, the other secretly contemplates what to do with his life afterward. Chris and Remy journey across Florida over several days, making stops and reconnecting with old friends along the way. Each destination will influence whether or not Chris will pull the trigger on his carefully laid plan to leave everything behind. Full of characters that have all known each other for twenty years or longer, The Crossroads shows how someone troubled can fly under the radar not only to the point where others don't realize something is wrong, but they don't even notice that sometimes they can be the contributors to a person's turmoil. It also touches on how people can be surrounded by loved ones, but for one reason or another still be completely alone. The idea to walk out on life is common, but the decision to press forward not so much, and Crossroads attempts to help remedy that in a quick and conversation-driven short story.

Description : Do I have a right to write this story? The road that trans people must travel to realise themselves fully, unfurling their truth before the world, is a long and painful one. Every step along that way is tangled with fear and provocation, and too often each moment of personal courage and joy is poisoned by the ignorance and insensitivity of others. Elisabeth Spencer’s daughter, Milly, came out as trans when she was twenty-one, undergoing sex-reassignment surgery in Bangkok at the age of twenty-four. The Road to My Daughter explores Elisabeth’s emotional journey over the course of her daughter’s life, as she struggles firstly with the mystery of Milly’s constant unhappiness, then with the revelation of her coming out, through a sense of bereavement, bewilderment and guilt, culminating in her determination to help her child become her true self. The Road to My Daughter is both compelling and timely, as well as a thoughtful reflection on trans issues. Elisabeth’s narrative illuminates what it really means to be the parent of a transgender child, how it feels to witness the physical and mental processes of transitioning, and the realities behind embarking on this journey together.

Description : "Addresses a real need: a scholarly and ritually informed reading of spirituality in the work of a major African American author. No other work catalogues so thoroughly the grounding of Morrison's work in African cosmogonies. Zauditu-Selassie's many readings of Ba Kongo and Yoruba spiritual presence in Morrison's work are incomparably detailed and generally convincing."--Keith Cartwright, University of North Florida Toni Morrison herself has long urged for organic critical readings of her works. K. Zauditu-Selassie delves deeply into African spiritual traditions, clearly explaining the meanings of African cosmology and epistemology as manifest in Morrison's novels. The result is a comprehensive, tour-de-force critical investigation of such works as The Bluest Eye, Sula, Song of Solomon, Tar Baby, Paradise, Love, Beloved, and Jazz. While others have studied the African spiritual ideas and values encoded in Morrison's work, African Spiritual Traditions in the Novels of Toni Morrison is the most comprehensive. Zauditu-Selassie explores a wide range of complex concepts, including African deities, ancestral ideas, spiritual archetypes, mythic trope, and lyrical prose representing African spiritual continuities. Zauditu-Selassie is uniquely positioned to write this book, as she is not only a literary critic but also a practicing Obatala priest in the Yoruba spiritual tradition and a Mama Nganga in the Kongo spiritual system. She analyzes tensions between communal and individual values and moral codes as represented in Morrison's novels. She also uses interviews with and nonfiction written by Morrison to further build her critical paradigm.

Description : Temples of Desire and Other Stories have a compelling narrative that takes you through a multitude of intrigues and happenings, woven around the very social fibre of countryside India, gripping the reader like a vice. Sexual promiscuity and permissiveness, greed and integrity and blind beliefs, are the engines of stimulus that drive the behaviour of the characters of the five short stories from the author’s quiver. Read on, as the realisation dawns that she had become helpless and migratory like a stray chicken in the world of foxes.
