Description : I got the title The Loving, Living Will of God to His People for this book in 1994, and it details the God of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible and the Torah, as he needs to be thought of. I believe that he should be thought of each day, as he has great powers and angels to help him. He has shown them throughout history, and he wants people to build a temple for him. He didn’t like the violence on earth, and that was what caused the great flood. Think about it, water. Too much can cause a flood, and too little causes dry land, crop failures, and fires. Is this because of war situations? I don’t have respect for any man who creates war. Did God create famine and disease if people wanted war? Today is May 23, 2018. On May 8, I lost my daughter to terminal cancer. I had grieved greatly before this, and I still do. She told me that she is in heaven and the pain and suffering of the body are gone. I think, Was the United States military responsible? We dropped bombs in foreign countries and killed people. Do we lose one of ours to disease? She left two children of three and five with a father, three grandmothers and other people to teach them. Can we teach our youth a better way?

Description : My Living Will is the story of former major league pitcher John Trautwein, and the unbelievable tragedy which befell him and his family when his fifteen-year-old son, Will, took his own life. There had been no warnings, no obvious signs of anxiety, depression, or unhappiness; nothing. A family and a community were left stunned as they pondered how a young man like Will Trautwein, a healthy, happy, popular, athletic, and musical teenager, who came from such a loving home, could lose the will to live. "John Trautwein writes straight from the heart. And his words will save lives. The story Trautwein shares in these pages--a remarkable journey of passion and purpose--will literally save lives." - Jeffrey Marx, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Season of Life "John Trautwein's story inspires hope. It empowers people, and it gives its readers the 'hope for life.' The triumph that this story imparts arouses the goodness in everyone as it drives people toward action." - Joe Girardi, Manager, The New York Yankees "In my twenty-two years of broadcasting, I have told many stories of triumph over tragedy, but the story of Will Trautwein and his family has stayed with me. The loss of such a vibrant young man and the strength of his family to use their heartache to help has had an impact on how I parent my daughter, and how I report stories of teenage depression and suicide. This is a must-read if you have a teenager in your life." - Stephany Fisher, Anchor, CBS News, Atlanta "Ever wonder if a young person in your own home might be at risk? Read this book. In "My Living Will," John Trautwein takes the emotions of loss and turns them into a message of awareness and hope. A must read for parents and teenagers alike!" - Dan Shaughnessy, The Boston Globe

Description : Scratch beneath the surface of today’s culture and you’ll find we’re not so different from ancient Israel. True, our sophistication, mobility, and technology eclipse anything the Israelites could have imagined. Our worship is far different, to say nothing of our language and customs. Yet if the prophets Hosea, Amos, and Micah were to visit us today, we might be shocked to see how little their messages would differ from the ones they delivered 2,800 years ago. For human hearts are still the same--and so is God. Injustice, oppression, and political corruption anger him as much as ever. Apostasy still grieves him. His judgment of sin remains as fierce as his love is strong. And the hope God extends to those who turn toward him is as brilliant now as at any time in history. Revealing the links between Israel eight centuries B.C. and our own times, Gary V. Smith shows how the prophetic writings of Hosea, Amos, and Micah speak to us today with relevance and conviction.

Description : Have you ever wondered why society is getting cruder and ruder, with stress, depression and mental illness rising and little joy felt? Why children behave badly and schools are failing? Why trust has vanished with your identity? And why sex is oozing out of every aspect of the culture? We live in a skeptical age with the country splintering into special interest groups claiming to be victims and requiring special treatment, and a Congress thats deadlocked in partisan bickering. There is anger and tension and really intolerable things being tolerated, placing women and children in danger. If you have such questions, this is your book, an inquiry into the spirit of the age. Examined are root causes for the darkened culture, immoral behavior, and rejection of traditions. The age glorifies science and technical progress, and yet is unhappy and sickly. Individualism surmounts community concerns creating narcissistic people tending toward nihilism, where the self is the center of the universe. The postmodern culture throws away things, relationships, and lives, like it disposes of outdated items. Logic is replaced with how I feel, and reliance on personal experience for making decisions. Relativism is accepted in ethics and for determining truth, so that it is my truth and your truth, and objectivity and common sense are lost. Science is erecting the abstract man, who, in the process, has lost heart and a sense of reality, living in a delusional world. The result is a profusion of confusion.

Its uplifting stories offer a new way to perceive the world, and its timeless lessons empower Christians to make positive, life-changing choices. As we endure hardships, questions arise. Has God given up on me? How can I gain more courage and strength? How can I find lasting inner peace? Fearless Living and Loving explores these concerns as it presents the transforming ministry of Christ in a way that everyone can understand. Jesus affirmed that, as our love grows, we are better equipped to overcome adversity. And as our faith grows, we are able to let go of worry and doubt. In times of sickness or decline, people want to feel safe and loved. In times of pain or distress, people seek to learn more about life’s meaning and purpose. And in times of loss or sadness, people strive to maintain hope. These existential truths are found in every part of the world. Yet, by inviting God’s love into our hearts, we can be ready for life’s biggest challenges. And by embracing the Light of Christ, we can live and love without fear. Description : As humans, things happen to us sometimes that we cannot fully understand. We desire to explain them when from human perspective there's no explanation that really exists. Our perplexion at things of that nature are not just about when they happen to us but also the things we witness in the world around us. They oftentimes shake the foundations of our faith in God to the core. But as much as not knowing hurts, at no time should our reaction be to accuse God for things we don't understand. Rather, we should know that God is not always the architect of all our problems and that He might not always save us from people that live to harm us or bless us the way we want because we take a stand with Him. His promise however is one thing and that is that He'll work it all out for HIS OWN ENDS even the wicked for a day of disaster Proverbs 16:4b. However your pain occurred, God's declared intentions are that He'll use all of your problems any which way they present to work out His will for your life. The deaths of some of the people that went before us is proof that for reasons best known to Him, God at times chooses not to deliver people that take a stand with Him. And it's not because He hated such people but because of what He already planned to use the situation for.
