Description : Your head sits heavily in your hands as the last employee turns out the last light and goes home for the night, leaving you alone in the dark with your failure and desperation. This scene is played-out daily in offices all over America, as leaders in corporations, churches, and organizations free-fall from moral or ethical failure. Wayde Goodall has observed this quagmire for decades, counseling those who have thrown away their families and their futures for a moment of pleasure or profit. Profiling well-known leaders who've had a fall from grace, Goodall notes the common traits, warning signs, and most importantly, a plan for avoiding such deadly traps of the soul. For everyone who has found himself in this terrible dilemma, and to those who can still avoid it, this book is like a beacon. There is a fail-safe guide for remaining on the right path, and Why Great Men Fall illustrates that safe route in a riveting way. One after the other, great men are falling like dominoes as they defy the profound wisdom of Scripture, make themselves into their own god and satisfy their most base desires. If you are already experiencing substantial fame, power or wealth or, more importantly, if you are approaching that possibility in your life, this well be one of the most important books you will ever read. -Barry Meguiar, President/CEO of Meguiar?s, Inc, and host of FOX?s Speed Channel program, Car Crazy Television Wayde Goodall has shared a brief but masterful guide to leadership in WHY GREAT MEN FALL. Having known Wayde as an exceptional leader for over 20 years, it is obvious that this is the life story and lessons learned by a great, humble leader whose "life lessons" blended with the truth of God's Word, give us a page turner that addresses the personal issues of today. -Dr. Tom Phillips, Director of the Billy Graham Cove & Director of Crusades for Billy Graham Crusades Anyone can read the headlines. It takes a finer mind to go behind the faces of scandalized celebrities and their lurid exploits. Dr. Goodall combines discernment, insight, and an engaging contemporaneity to turn the tale of the fallen into wisdom for those willing to learn. -Mark Rutland, President, Southeastern University

Description : About This Issue of The Ministry In this issue of The Ministry, Brother Lee helps us to have an appreciation for the Bible as the Word of God. Having survived much persecution to be translated into many languages and dialects today, the Bible is a precious gift that the Lord has bestowed on us. Therefore, we believers should treasure it. The contents of the Bible are profound and mysterious, being a revelation and explanation of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and the processes through which He passed. Therefore, we should highly regard the Bible, read it diligently, and come to it to receive the Lord as life. The following six messages are from the 2000 Memorial Day Conference in San Jose, California, entitled "A New Revival—Becoming the New Jerusalem." In this series of messages, the New Jerusalem is presented not in a general way, but in a way that specifically focuses on becoming the New Jerusalem. Hence, the burden of these messages can be summarized in the following four statements: 1) the New Jerusalem is the consummation of God becoming man and man becoming God in life, in nature, and in expression but not in the Godhead; 2) the Triune God and we become the New Jerusalem by the divine dispensing of Himself into us as the flowing Triune God for our enjoyment to be our eternal blessing for His eternal glory; 3) we become the New Jerusalem, the enlargement of God, the corporate God-man, through the process of God’s organic salvation; and 4) the consummation of God’s organic salvation is the New Jerusalem, the processed and consummated Triune God incorporated with His regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, conformed, and glorified tripartite elect. Last of all, we include an announcement which contains information concerning upcoming conferences and gatherings in Europe.

Description : You may probably be wondering why another book on leadership training has been published. It is true you may have read or even written hundreds of books on leadership training. But this book is unique. It is not like any other book you may have read or written! Other books write about the need for leadership training and offer the same old courses which have been in use for years. Yesterday’s methods may not always produce the results they used to. The methods of yesterday may not always accommodate all the generations living in the world today. This book discusses the benefits of leadership training and suggests nine areas of training which can comfortably benefit the premodern, modern, and the postmodern mindsets. Some people in this generation may be premodern, modern, or postmodern due to various reasons. Probably they were born during the time when those generations were in existence, or probably they have been shaped into those generations by the education system or by influence of others from across the world due to the ease of communication made possible by the internet. This book first discusses the general views held by people concerning whether training of Christian leaders is important or not. Some few people feel that it is not important because the Holy Spirit is their only teacher! Majority of people acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit but believe that training is important and can make leaders more effective. The Holy Spirit uses people to accomplish his desire to have others trained. Second, the book discusses the benefits of leadership training which affirm the need to have leaders trained for God’s own glory. Finally, the book discusses nine areas of training which have been tested and found to be effective in equipping Christian leaders for more successful work of ministry and leadership in the church and its organizations.

Description : The Collected Works of Witness Lee,1969, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from July 17 through December 28, 1969. Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles through the month of July until the end of August. He made a brief trip to San Francisco, California, and then rested nearly the entire month of September. At the beginning of October he visited San Francisco, California; and then traveled to Phoenix, Arizona; Mesa, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Las Vegas, Nevada; and San Francisco, California; a second time. After returning to Los Angeles for one day in the middle of November, he visited Yorba Linda, California; Louisville, Kentucky; Toronto, Canada; East Hartland, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; New York City; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Erie, Pennsylvania. He returned to Los Angeles at the end of December. Regrettably, there is no record of his speaking in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Louisville, Toronto, East Hartland, and Boston. The majority of his speaking in Pittsburgh and Erie was recorded in handwritten notes. The contents of this volume are divided into fourteen sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 17 through August 21. These messages were previously published in a twenty-four-chapter book under the title Christ and the Church Revealed and Typified in the Psalms. 2. It is included in this volume under the title An Additional Word in Response to Testimonies concerning Five Secrets of Life Revealed in Second Peter 1. 3. Five messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 22 through 24. The first four of these messages were previously published in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, numbers 4 through 7, April, May, June, and July 1998, and the fifth message was previously published in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, number 8, August/September 1998, as one section of a compilation of Brother Lee's speaking on migration during the years 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972. The entire series of five messages previously published in The Ministry magazine appeared under the title Migration in God's Move. 4. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on November 16. This message is included in this section under the title Fellowship on Migration. 5. Seven messages given in San Francisco, California, from August 29 through September 1 and on October 3. They are included in this volume under the title Exercising the Spirit and Walking according to the Spirit to Build Up the Church. 6. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 21 and 22. They are included in this volume under the title Denying Our Soul-life and the Living, Walking, and Abiding in Our Spirit for the Building Up of the Church. 7. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on September 25. This message is included in this volume under the title Helping the New Believers to Be Properly Grounded in Their Salvation and to Grow in Life. 8. One message given in Mesa, Arizona, on October 15. It is included in this volume under the title Needing to Live in Our Spirit in Order to Meet in the Proper Way. 9. Six messages given in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 17 through 20. These messages are published in this volume under the title Enjoying the All-inclusive Spirit in Our Human Spiritfor the Building Up of the Church. There is no record of the first two messages. 10. Four messages given in San Francisco, California, on November 7 through 9. They are included in this volume under the title Fall Conference in San Francisco. 11. Eight messages given in Yorba Linda, California, on November 27 through 30. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Two Trees in the Christian Life. Two of the messages were combined. 12. Four messages given in New York City on December 18 through 21. They are included in this volume under the title Enjoying and Ministering Christ for the Fulfillment of God's Purpose. 13. One message given in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 22. This message is included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Practice of the Church Life. Its contents were taken from the personal notes of an attendee. Brother Lee spoke two additional messages on December 23, but there is no substantial record of his speaking. 14. Thirteen messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on December 24 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Church Life. Of the thirteen messages spoken, only two were recorded. The content of the remaining chapters was taken from the personal notes of a conference attendee. Some messages were combined to form the nine chapters in this section. In addition to the above, Brother Lee gave six messages in Los Angeles, California, on August 16 through 21. These messages, together with messages given in 1963 and 1965, were previously published in a book under the title Our Human Spirit. This book in its entirety is included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3.

Description : This issue of The Ministry contains the messages given during the Spring 2005 International Training for Elders and Responsible Ones, held April 10-12 in Anaheim, California. The general subject of this training was the churches, the ministry, and the work. The Body is the governing law of the life and work of the children of God today. The church, the ministry, and the work are on the ground of the Body. The basic principle of the churches is the Body, the basic principle of the ministry is the Body, and the basic principle of the work is the Body. The churches are the Body expressed locally, the ministry is the Body in function, and the work is the Body seeking increase (Acts 13:1-2; 21:19). Concerning this subject, in fellowship with a few co-workers on December 15, 1995, Brother Witness Lee said, "I ask you to render to this work the highest cooperation. When I say 'the highest cooperation,' I mean that you must dive into these things, as I did, day and night. Second, you have to experience them. Third, you have to live a God-man life. Fourth, you have to be an overcomer to keep every principle of the Body." May the Lord enlighten us concerning every principle of the Body! Last of all, we include a report concerning the Lord's move in Israel.

Description : This issue of The Ministry contains six messages which were given during the 1997 fall term of the Full-time Training in Anaheim, California concerning the grafted life. The first three messages deal with knowing and experiencing the divine life in the grafted life. If we are to live the grafted life in reality, we need to know and experience the divine life in a richer and fuller way day by day. Message One presents the matters of the sense of life and the law of life, Message Two speaks concerning the fellowship of life and the light of life, and Message Three deals with the growth in life and reigning in life. Message Four speaks of bearing fruit and ministering life in the grafted life, Message Five presents the church life and the Body life in the grafted life, and Message Six unveils the New Jerusalem--the ultimate consummation of the grafted life. Through our being grafted into Christ as the embodiment of the Triune God, we are mingled and incorporated with the Triune God to become a great, universal, divine and human incorporation of the processed Triune God with the regenerated, transformed, and glorified tripartite man. We become the New Jerusalem by living a grafted life. Last of all, we include a report concerning the Lord's move in England and a schedule of upcoming conferences in Europe.

Description : In this issue of The Ministry, we continue the series of messages on the present practice in God’s economy. These messages, given at a crucial time in the Lord’s recovery, unveil the practice of the new way which the Lord gave to the churches through Brother Lee’s ministry and practical leading. In the message which we include here, Brother Lee emphasizes our need to carry out the begetting, nourishing, and teaching in the meetings in the believers’ homes. To carry out the new way, we must no longer build up the big meetings of the church, which have the clergy-laity system as their root. This truly involves a spiritual warfare, so we must struggle every step of the way, especially in prayer, to participate in the fighting service in God’s economy. The subsequent six messages are from the second half of the Living Stream Ministry’s Summer Training of 1997, entitled The Crucial Contents of God’s New Testament Ministry. This training, which followed immediately after our brother’s departure, was a thorough review of the contents of the New Testament ministry, which he brought to us over many years. On the occasion of Brother Lee’s departure, we can consider all that the Lord has unveiled to us, all the truths which were recovered for us through our brother’s faithful ministry, to bring us into the Lord’s recovery and into the experience of Christ and the reality of the Body of Christ for God’s eternal economy to consummate the New Jerusalem. The local churches raised up under this ministry will speak these things, teach these things, write these things, and live these things until we meet the Lord. Last, we include an encouraging report on the spread of the ministry through the marketing of our publications in Christian bookstores. We also report on the work to produce the Recovery Version of the New Testament in the Russian language, which is now in its fifth and final year. A letter from the co-workers in the former Soviet Union brings us up to date on the Lord’s move there in the first training for the responsible brothers and the recent winter training held in Moscow, and letters from Berlin, Germany report on the progress in publishing and distributing books by Watchman Nee in the German language.

Description : About This Issue of The Ministry In this issue of The Ministry we continue to see that the salvation of God is a matter of the Spirit and not the letter. According to God’s salvation, to repent is to turn from the things outside of God to God Himself, because the central thought of God’s salvation is that God Himself wants to come into man to be his life and nature. Then out of this life and nature there will be a result, that is, the excellent fruit borne of the Holy Spirit as the issue of the operation of God after He has entered into man. If we draw near to God, treasure Him, and live before Him in this way, we will live out His virtues by living in another realm, a realm in which the life of God is being expressed through us. In this issue we also include the last six messages of the Crystallization- study of Revelation held in the winter of 1999 in Long Beach, California. Message Seven strongly indicates that spiritual warfare is a necessity, as seen by the vision of the war in heaven and the war at Armageddon. God wants His creature man to deal with His fallen creature Satan; for this, the human will must stand with the divine will. The burden of Message Eight is that all the saints in the Lord’s recovery would be perfected in this age to reign with Christ in the kingdom of a thousand years in the next age. Messages Nine, Ten, Eleven, and Twelve conclude the training with the vision of the New Jerusalem as the ultimate consummation of several wonderful items. It is the consummation of the divine economy, of the divine building, of the divine romance, of the new covenant of grace, of the new creation, of the mingling of the Triune God with the tripartite man, and of the Triune God as our entrance, constitution, existence, enjoyment, living, and expression. Hallelujah! Last of all, we include reports concerning the Lord’s move in Armenia and Holland.

Description : About This Issue of The Ministry In this issue of The Ministry, we continue to see that what the Bible reveals is not the improvement of our behavior but the salvation of God. Man’s salvation is God Himself; that is, God saves us not only by His power and His work but also by coming into us to be our salvation. Since God as our salvation comes to us freely by grace, we should not bring anything to Him except an empty heart. If we come to God, we should put ourselves aside, contact Him, let Him do everything according to the law of the Spirit of life, and give thanks and offer praises to Him. Then, as a result, we become one with Him, and what we live out will be something not of ourselves but of God’s nature. We have also included the first six messages of the Crystallization-study of Revelation held in the winter of 1999 in Long Beach, California. Message One covers two crystals: the temple with the ark and the principle of the man-child. The temple with the ark governs what is unveiled in Revelation 12—22 and relates to God’s expression through His building. The principle of the man-child is that God will choose a group of overcomers who will attain to His purpose and fulfill His demand. Message Two indicates strongly that the book of Revelation is a book on the overcomers, the man-child, God’s dispensational instrument to bring Christ’s kingdom to the earth. Message Three, concerning the firstfruits, the harvest, and the late overcomers, gives a complete view of the coming rapture. To be raptured is to be taken into the Lord’s presence; in order to be taken into the Lord’s presence, we must be in His presence today. Message Four unveils the source and essence of Babylon the Great—religious and material, and Message Five reveals the principle of Babylon. Message Six presents the marriage of the Lamb as the issue of the completion of God’s New Testament economy. Last of all, we include reports concerning the Lord’s continuing move through the radio broadcast in London, England and a recent conference in Stockholm, Sweden.

Description : In this issue of The Ministry, we include six messages from the 2002 Memorial Day Conference in Seattle, Washington, May 24-27. The general subject of this series of messages is, "A New Reviva--Living the Life of a God-man for the Reality of the Body of Christ." The following four statements summarize the burden for these messages: 1) God's economy is God becoming man that man may become God in life and in nature for the producing of the Body of Christ; 2) the reality of the Body of Christ is a corporate living of conformity to the death of Christ by the power of the resurrection of Christ; 3) the Spirit is the reality of the Triune God, the reality of resurrection, and the reality of the Body of Christ; and 4) whenever we turn to our spirit and exercise our spirit, we enter into the reality of the Body, because the Body is in our spirit. Last of all, we include two reports: 1) a recent training among the young people in West Africa, and 2) recent and upcoming trainings and conferences in Russia.

Description : In this issue of The Ministry, we resume the series of messages concerning the present practice in God’s economy. In these messages, Brother Lee fights against the influence of Christianity in the practice of the church life in the Lord’s recovery. This influence has caused the recovery to suffer a downward trend toward religion. As the crystallization of human culture, religion was invented by man when he lost God. Today the influence of religion can be seen in the unfruitful practices of Christianity, especially the practice of a few leaders exercising control over other believers and annulling their function. We must change the system in our way to meet and serve, especially by encouraging and teaching the brothers and sisters to practice the meetings in their homes in a vital way with the word of God. The following three messages are from the evening sessions of the International Elders’ Training in October 1998 concerning our vision, which includes the one ministry, the one work, and the one accord. To build up the Body of Christ, all the elders need to enter into the one New Testament ministry. Based on the one ministry, there is only one work in the Lord’s recovery today. To carry out the one work in the one ministry, we all need to be in one accord. The one accord is the practical application of the oneness of the Body of Christ, and it is also the master key to every blessing in the New Testament. Following this is a series of messages concerning the grafted life, which were given in the full-time training in Anaheim in the fall of 1997. Message One covers the vision of the grafted life—God and man entering into an organic union through grafting. Message Two presents the clear view that the Christian life is not an exchanged life but a grafted life—the mingling of the human life with the divine life. Message Three stresses the fact that the grafted life is a life in the principle of incarnation. The principle of incarnation seen in the grafted life is that God enters into man and mingles Himself with man to make Himself one with man; thus, God is in man, and man is also in God. Lastly, we include reports from the English, Spanish, and Chinese radio sections concerning the radio broadcasts in these languages.

Description : This book is a “journey book.” Sitting down at a computer and producing the story has been a grand trek. I have learned that there is a principle in nature that some things need to mellow, calm down, and soak in. The refusal of winemakers to take a wine before its time is a notion I am coming to understand. It works with writers as well. Like a fetus signaling its mother that it is time to head for the hospital, a literary work stays in the mind until its time. In my education, I have read of the battles of great Church leaders who were eventually thrown out of their churches. In my denominational education, I was largely led to see them as heretics, rebels, eccentrics, revolutionaries, apostates, and as generally representing a lower form of spirituality. Church education often asked me to surrender my biases in favor of accepting a new set of assumptions—my denominational ones. We were to be critical of everything except our organization. I submit that there is danger in that. This book will cover incidents from the first forty years of my life as a religious addict. You may find something here that you can identify with.
