Description : John 13:31–32: So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. Jesus Christ, the second Adam, the Son of Man, glorified God by His obedience to the cross. This work of redemption is the basis by which all the counsels of God are accomplished. All that God does for man, all that He works out on mankind’s behalf, has its foundation upon the death of the Son of Man. God will eventually gather all things—in heaven and on earth—into the raised and glorified Christ. God will be glorified in all that He does, and He has exalted the resurrected Son of Man to His right hand in glory. This is where it begins. When this Man had finished His work, He forever sat down in regards to a completed redemption (Heb. 10:12). From this point, all God’s counsels begin to unfold. If the believer will read this book, and ask the Spirit of God to teach you, you will never be the same. All of Scripture will open up to you. The believer has been given the Spirit of God that you may know all these things and you have the mind of Christ (I Cor. 2:12,16). “Now the Son of Man is glorified ...”

Description : This is a multi-view book in which representatives of differing viewpoints make a positive statement of their case, followed by responses from the others, and concluding with a rebuttal by the original author. The topic at hand in this book is the identity of Jesus (also known as Christology). What is the meaning of Jesus's identity as "the Son of God"? Charles Lee Irons argues that the title "Son of God" denotes his ontological deity from a Trinitarian perspective. Danny Andre Dixon and Dustin R. Smith challenge this view from two different non-Trinitarian viewpoints. Smith argues that Jesus is the authentically human Son of God, the Davidic Messiah, who did not possess a literal preexistence prior to his virgin birth. Dixon argues that Jesus is God's preexistent Son in the sense that God gave him life or existence at some undefined point prior to creation. The authors engage the topic from the perspective that reverences the authority and inspiration of Scripture as the final arbiter of this debate. The literature of early Judaism is also engaged in order to try to understand the extent to which the New Testament's Christology may have been influenced by or operated within the context of Jewish conceptions of divine secondary beings as agents of God.

Description : This book traces the history of the idea that the king and later the messiah is Son of God, from its origins in ancient Near Eastern royal ideology to its Christian appropriation in the New Testament. Both highly regarded scholars, Adela Yarbro Collins and John J. Collins argue that Jesus was called "the Son of God" precisely because he was believed to be the messianic king. This belief and tradition, they contend, led to the identification of Jesus as preexistent, personified Wisdom, or a heavenly being in the New Testament canon. However, the titles Jesus is given are historical titles tracing back to Egyptian New Kingdom ideology. Therefore the title "Son of God" is likely solely messianic and not literal. King and Messiah as Son of God is distinctive in its range, spanning both Testaments and informed by ancient Near Eastern literature and Jewish noncanonical literature.

Description : These books are written to all who are in search for the almighty God whom we do not know or see, but whom we have rather heard about from our fathers and forefathers and read about in our religious textbooks!!! Yet, it is impossible to believe and love God if we do not know him! We can hardly know ourselves!!! And the mystery keeps getting bigger: Who is this God? Is he the same one to all? And if he is, why all the confusion and misunderstandings? Did he really create us for suffering on purpose, and if not, what is the “Origin of it all”?

Description : In "I Am Not Alone" the Oneness (Modalistic Monarchian) doctrine is brought to task in light of Biblical truth and the history of dogma by a long-time advocate of the same! The author begins by establishing clear, and irrefutable biblical rules for interpreting the Bible. Then he shows how false methods of interpretations (for example, jumping to conclusions and leaning on extrabiblical ideas) are how both the Trinity and Oneness doctrines are arrived at. Next the author leads the reader back to the Old Testament (OT) as the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, with an eye toward showing how its foundational ideas stand in stark contrast to certain pagan and Gnostic views which have been adopted and modified for use by Trinitarians and Onenessians in defining their beliefs. This information will help the reader clearly see how well-established the OT terms and concepts of Messiah really are (for example "Christ," "Son of God," "agency" and "foreknowledge"). Being empowered with such knowledge, the reader will be able to easily discern unbiblical (false) terms and concepts (for example "dual natures" and "incarnation") with a healthy amount of suspicion rather than reverence! The next step is showing the reader how clearly and plainly the New Testament retains the foundational OT concepts in proclaiming Jesus the Anointed (Christ) as the prophesied Son of God, just as the Apostles understood, preached, and taught him to be. Finally, the author addresses, and exposes, the ways in which Onenessians have reinterpreted certain "proof-texts" through unbiblical lenses in an attempt to support their man-made theories, comparing their methods all along to the same methods used by their archrivals, the Trinitarians. In this way the grammatical trickery of both Trinitarians and Onenessians is exposed like a con-artist's sleight of hand! The goal for this book is to restore Oneness believers in search of truth to the simple, pure, undiluted faith once delivered by Jesus Christ through his apostles: that, "Jesus the Anointed, is the Son of God!" The truth is, those two openly proclaimed facts (Jesus being "anointed" and God's "son,") clearly mean, biblically speaking, that Jesus is quite decidedly, not an incarnation of God Himself. And that is why Jesus' very own words refute the Oneness position; just as Jesus himself said, "I Am Not Alone!"

Description : Christians in every age have acknowledged the importance of Pauls Epistle to the Romans. Martin Luther called it really the chief part of the New Testament, and truly the purest gospel. In addition, Samuel Taylor Coleridge regarded Romans as the most profound book in existence: others have described it as the cathedral of the Christian faith. The epistle is a Christian manifesto of freedom through Jesus Christ. It is the fullest, plainest, and grandest statement of the gospel in the New Testament. Throughout the centuries, this epistle has been recognized as perhaps the most complete theological statement regarding the Gospel of God. Paul is the great theologian who presented the gospel in theological terms which remain unmatched and which elevate the gospel message to a greater level of understanding. This epistle has five main themes: the first is the redefinition of the basis of salvation which is not based on the Law, but by grace alone and faith alone in Christ Jesus; the second is the redefinition of the people of God not according to physical birth but by spiritual birth and by faith; the third is the righteousness that is based on faith in God; the fourth is the doctrine of election; the fifth is the explanation of Christian behavior as based on Christian belief.

Description : In the name of the Lord, The most Merciful and Beneficent. Jesus was a Prophet and one of those reformists who propagated that Allah is the one and only God whom alone men should worship. So do the Quran and the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) describe Jesus. Therefore it is obligatory on the Muslims to believe it. Christians, who have faith in Jesus and believe him as the God and ‘the son of God’ as well, worship him as much. What exactly is the inference regarding the status of Jesus whom the two great religions of the world believe in? It is indeed our right and duty too, to analyse and discern the truth. It is especially so at such a juncture of the century when Christians are earnestly endeavouring to goad the Muslims to believe that Jesus is undoubtedly the ‘son of God’ by interpreting to their own end the various Quranic verses where Jesus is being eulogized by God. A scrutiny of the Bible and the Quran without prejudice will convince even those with inadequate knowledge of the two great scriptures, that there cannot be a son of God. While there are ample evidences leading to such a decisive conclusion, the Christian brethren who are misled by the clergy, believe in the theory of ‘Son of God’ thereby forgoing the chance to attain salvation in the hereafter. By quoting freely from the Bible itself, I have brought to light the fact that Jesus is not the ‘Son of God’ but on the other hand he was one of the great Prophets of god. The Christian brethren who peruse this book unbiasedly without any like or dislike whatsoever, will certainly discern the truth that Jesus was a saintly Prophet of God. I do therefore hope and pray that they will no more consider him as God or ‘Son of God’ Amen!

Description : Two baffling concepts have always confronted Christianity: the doctrine of the trinity and the subject of Christology. Both subjects deal with the inexplicable mysteries of how God became incarnate in Jesus Christ, and when did Jesus know He was God? The author believes the subject of the trinity is actually simple and easily understood from a scriptural perspective. This book is for anyone who wants to know about the preexistence of Jesus Christ, for believers who might be unsure about their personal salvation, and for all Christians who want the entire message of how and why Jesus is the Son of God. Robert Fuller is an ordained minister having received his B.A. degree in the Biblical Field from Abilene Christian University and a M.Ed. degree from the University of North Texas. Mr. Fuller states: "I was raised a Trinitarian as defined by the Nicene Counsel of 325 A.D., and was taught Chalcedonian Christology; yet, it was not until later in life that I have come to understand the scriptures concerning why and how God the Son emptied Himself, not of divinity, but of equality with Very God to become the Son of God and eventually the man Jesus Christ. Jesus was the Son of God in human form, and fulfilled God's perfect will so that God the Father gave Him the authoritative name of Jesus." Jesus was aware of His divinity at His barmitzvah, when He demonstrated to the temple priest His divine wisdom about the Torah. Catholics have always been right about Mary being the Mother of God. She knew Jesus was God in the flesh and no doubt informed Him early on about His miraculous conception. Jesus' virgin birth was something Mary just couldn't keep to herself! (Luke 1:46-56)

Description : The so-called extra Calvinisticum-the doctrine that the incarnate Son of God continued to exist beyond the flesh-was not invented by John Calvin or Reformed theologians. If this is true, as is almost universally acknowledged today, then why do scholars continue to fixate almost exclusively on Calvin when they discuss this doctrine? The answer to the “why” of this scholarly trend, however, is not as important as correcting the trend. This volume expands our vision of the historical functions and christological significance of this doctrine by expounding its uses in Cyril of Alexandria, Thomas Aquinas, Zacharias Ursinus, and in theologians from the Reformation to the present. Despite its relative obscurity, the doctrine that came to be known as the “Calvinist extra” is a possession of the church catholic and a feature of Christology that ought to be carefully appropriated in contemporary reflection on the Incarnation.

Description : Winner of the 2013 Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise Michael Peppard examines the social and political meaning of divine sonship in the Roman Empire. He begins by analyzing the conceptual framework within which the term ''son of God'' has traditionally been considered in biblical scholarship. Then, through engagement with recent scholarship in Roman history - including studies of family relationships, imperial ideology, and emperor worship - he offers new ways of interpreting the Christian theological metaphors of ''begotten''and ''adoptive'' sonship. Peppard focuses on social practices and political ideology, revealing that scholarship on divine sonship has been especially hampered by mistaken assumptions about adopted sons. He invites fresh readings of several early Christian texts, from the first Gospel to writings of the fourth century. By re-interpreting several ancient phenomena - particularly divine status, adoption, and baptism - he offers an imaginative refiguring of the Son of God in the Roman world.

Description : N.T. Wright takes us on a fascinating journey through ancient beliefs about life after death, from the shadowy figures who inhabit Homer's Hades, through Plato's hope for a blessed immortality, to the first century, where the Greek and Roman world (apart from the Jews) consistently denied any possibility of resurrection. We then examine ancient Jewish beliefs on the same subject, from the Bible to the Dead Sea Scrolls and beyond. This sets the scene for a full-scale examination of early Christian beliefs about resurrection in general and that of Jesus in particular, beginning with Paul and working through to the start of the third century. Wright looks at all the evidence, and asks: Why did the Christians agree with Jewish resurrection belief while introducing into it - across the board - significant modifications? To answer this question we come to the strange and evocative Easter stories in the gospels and asks whether they can have been late inventions. Wright seeks the best historical conclusions about the empty tomb and the belief that Jesus really did rise bodily from the dead, recognizing that it was this belief that caused early Christians to call Jesus 'Son of God'. In doing so, they posed a political challenge as well as a theological one. These challenges retain their power in the twenty-first century.

Description : "We were created in His image by the Triune God. Now through the redemption and salvation of the Triune God, every one of us one day will be conformed to the image of God’s firstborn Son. Thus, God’s firstborn Son with the many sons will constitute God’s corporate expression. This also accomplishes God’s original purpose of creation, that is, that man may have God’s image and, by God’s life, live Him out to express Him. Moreover, He desires those who are saved by His life to express the glory and beauty of His divine attributes in their human virtues. When we who died with Christ and live with Him express the glory and beauty of the divine attributes, such as love, light, holiness, righteousness, patience, and humility, in our human virtues, God will obtain an unsurpassing glory through this. In this way, we are corporately conformed to the image of the firstborn Son."
