Description : This book also explores the disconnect between churches and religion. God sought for all of us to be one people and serve one God, but myriad churches exist; many of them teach that prayer should be conducted publicly and vocally. God says we are to pray in secret and not in public; he rewards us for praying secretly. Do you pray in secret? When you pray, do you repeat the Lord's Prayer without contemplating the meaning of the words?

Description : ..".to many of us prayer is more like talking to a chocolate pudding than participating in an amazing relationship with a living being." In my experience, when I get discouraged about prayer I stop praying. I think this is common to many Christians, yet this is the opposite of what the Bible says we should do. Instead, it tells us to keep on praying and to pray more and more the worse things get. In fact, it tells us that the less our prayers are answered the more we should pray. The Bible's answer to discouragement about anything is to pray. For that matter, the Bible's answer to anything at all is to pray. On every occasion when we would normally not pray, it tells us instead to pray. Prayer in the Bible is the be-all and end-all to every situation and circumstance, whether it is immediately effective or not. To me this is unnatural. The be-all and end-all to me is to give up praying and instead to whine about God not listening. To me praying seems counter-intuitive. I would rather find an excuse for God not answering my prayer than persist and actually hear his answer. I would rather believe that God is sitting afar off and distant, uncaring and unmoved, than believe what the Bible says: that he really loves me personally, that he lives within me, that he hears my every word, that he answers my prayers and that he will never leave me nor forsake me. My internal, unspoken attitude toward prayer is that prayer does not always work and that it is boring, unrewarding and unimportant. All of these attitudes I have learned, either from others, or from myself. I need to unlearn all of these things and find out what prayer really is and how I should really pray. I need to learn what God says about prayer rather than what I think about prayer. I need to learn what the Bible teaches about prayer rather than what other people tell me about prayer. In Pursuit of the Living God tries to persuade the reader that an eternal relationship with God is at the heart of all prayer. It explores, in simple terms, the what, why, when, where and how of prayer as revealed in the pages of the Christian Bible. If you've ever wondered why, when we need to pray the most, we often pray the least, maybe this book can lead you to some answers.

Description : "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" Be reminded of how to pray, what to pray for, when to pray and what assurances we have of answered prayers. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" reminds us that we can talk to God in prayer. Praying in its simplest form is defined as talking to God. Undoubtedly there may be grander definitions of prayer. The common thread in all of these is that when we pray, we communicate with God. Prayer is the hotline that gives us access to God. It is like having God on speed dial. Some people may choose to kneel, others may choose to bow, some may choose to whisper and some people even yell. All of these forms of prayer are acceptable to God. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" reminds us that God wants our prayers. God yearns for a relationship with us. As we have conversations with to our friends, our prayers are our conversations with God. God wants our prayers. He wants us to have conversations with Him in prayers. Bible Verses on Prayer like Jeremiah 29:12, capture this. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Likewise the Bible Verse on Prayer below. Luke 18:1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" reminds us of people like us who prayed. The Bible is filled with stories of lives of people who prayed at different stages of their lives. Moses prayed when He was at his wits end with the people of Israel. Rebekah prayed when she wondered about the fate of her unborn children. Solomon prayed for wisdom. Hannah prayed for a child. Abraham prayed for a city. Jesus prayed when he was about to face the cross. The Bible Verse in Genesis 20:17 reminds us Abraham prayed. Abraham prayed to God. God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his female servants, and they bore children. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" will help you pray. We may find ourselves in the place of prayer for different reasons. Our prayer could be a cry for help, an expression of gratitude, or simply a dialogue with God, as part of our relationship with God. We can pray for anything and anyone. Prayer has even been deemed by contemporary science to have medical and physiological benefits. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" will help you in your prayer journey. "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" reminds you of the assurances you have of answered prayer. Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me, and I will answer you. Mark 11:24-25 Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. This book "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" is a numbered list of 99 Bible verses on prayer starting from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Use these prayer verses to learn more about God and prayer, as a prayer book, for Bible study and in praying the Bible. God bless you as you pray. *The Bible Verses are from the WEB version. Some words from the version have been replaced with contemporary words. More Verses from "Bible Verses On Prayer: 99 Bible Verses About Prayer" 2 Kings 20:5 Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, The Lord, the God of David your father, says, "I have heard your prayer. Description : Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Nkjv If the devil is walking about seeking whom he may devour, it therefore means the devil is not omnipresence. The only authority that has that attribute is God. The devil does not have the power to devour everybody most especially the born again child of God, he only has power on those that gives him the privilege. But let me sound a note of warning to the believers, the bible says “the devil moves around like a roaring lion”, he is not the real roaring lion, but just mimicking the real lion. We all know that Jesus is the real roaring lion; he is the lion of the tribe of Judah. Revelation 5:5, Hosea 11:10 The devil is moving like the real lion, but his mission is not to bless, to protect, to prosper and to give abundant life like the real lion, his mission is to kill, to steal, to destroy and to devour. JOHN 10:10 We should not be deceived, the devil also has moved into many churches, behaving like the lion of the tribe of Judah, but his aim is to drag many to hell. 2Corinthians 11:14 That is the reason the bible is advising us, Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1Corinthians 10:12 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. 2 Peter 3:17 And that’s also why “THE POWERFUL FORCE OF PRAYER” is a must in our Christian walk with God.

Description : Have you ever wondered how prayer works? Have you ever wished you were better at praying? Have you ever been at a loss for words to pray? This is not a book that attempts to answer all your questions on prayer. On the contrary, the author acknowledges upfront that prayer is a mystery for which there is no magic formula. There are Biblical principles that teach much about prayer, and God's spiritual spokespersons have offered insight. But God is God, and prayer is in the realm of His unfathomable ways and workings. Rather, this is a book that invites you to come alongside the author and delve into the practice of prayer. It contains reflections on varied prayer matters that are based on exploring principles about prayer and trying various ways to pray. It is the fruit of the author's entreating God to teach her to pray. Since much of this entreating occurred while walking with her son through his cancer battle and now as she grieves his passing, the author's insights are presented as one questioning pilgrim desiring to help another. The book's premise is that we do not have to understand prayer to pray. We learn to pray by praying. The more we pray, the more natural praying therefore becomes. Hence, suggestions and tools are offered to facilitate praying. Whether you are relatively experienced with prayer, brand new, or somewhere in between, you are invited to ponder these prayer matters and to implement those suggestions for "doing prayer" that appeal to you. Because, ultimately, while we may not know the intricate workings of prayer this side of Heaven, one thing we do know is... Prayer Matters!

How to pray in a natural way and receive the desires of your heart by learning how to study the Bible Book 3 in the popular series, 'What Does the Bible Say?' Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 Many people are a little confused about what the Bible says about prayer and talking to God. Some feel kind of silly talking with a person they cannot see, hear or touch. As you begin to doubt your prayer duties, Satan creeps in and starts placing more doubts about the power of prayer and you soon find yourself wondering if you are wasting your time altogether. This book will teach you how to talk to God in a natural way through Bible study and prayer. It will explain what is prayer and how should you pray? Many forget that God sees through you and knows what is in your heart. That is all he cares about. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, in a hovel or in a mansion or in a church. All he cares about is what is in your heart at the time you come to talk with him. If you are praying to Him for something, ask for it, and if it is His will, it will be granted! LEARN MORE What is prayer and what are the benefits of actually praying? When, where, and how should you pray? What if God doesn't answer your prayers, what's next? How do you actually pray? Description : Praying the Psalms Changes Things is the fourth book in a very popular series by Lloyd Hildebrand that involves praying the Scriptures. The Bible says, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him" (1 John 5:14-15). This spiritual confidence comes from praying the God's Word, and the Psalms are particularly powerful sources of prayer for every believer. The Book of Psalms is know as the bible's prayer book, and so many of the Psalms are prayers that we can personalize for ourselves.

Description : Many books on the practice of prayer seem to be informed more by the experiences of their authors than by Scripture. However, the Bible not only teaches us about prayer, it also gives us many examples of prayer. It is God's Word to us, and it teaches us how to respond to that Word. Tim Chester's insightful exposition of this central aspect of Christian living is driven by the conviction that we need to reform not only our thinking and behaviour in the light of God's Word, but also our praying. Drawing on a wide range of biblical texts, he explores the foundations and the practice of prayer, and shows that how we understand prayer is necessarily bound up with how we understand the gospel, and God himself.

Especially helpful for me personally, were the chapters focusing on the "Daily Devotional Tools" and "Finding Your Own Prayer Style." I have been an academician and clinician for over thirty years and even though I am a Christian, I have often felt that my public prayers were not powerful enough to actually be effective. This journal has changed my views about my prayer life." - Mary Allen Carey, PhD, Allen Carey Associates, LLC ----

Description : The Biblical gift of speaking in tongues is the supernatural gift from God of speaking in a known foreign language to unbelievers without any previous knowledge or training in that language. And what is spoken in that foreign language is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The main purpose is in order that Christ and Him crucified would be preached to all nations in a language that the hearer would understand. Yet today, many wolves in sheep clothing have perverted what the true gift of speaking in tongues really is, and have replaced it with all sorts of false doctrines. This Bible study teaches verse by verse on this topic, teaching what the Bible says as compared to what the heretics of today have to say, who are deceiving Christians by telling them to pray in ecstatic utterance that was once only associated with demonic possession. And as you will see, a very dangerous doctrine is being spewed from the tongues of these false prophets.

Description : Why a theology of prayer? Because counterfeit prayer abounds, we need Scripture's guidance, writes Thomas Constable. Praying as God desires requires considering what God has revealed about it. As we give prayer our careful attention, we gain greater understanding of what he intends it to be. Constable details the different forms of communication God invites us to use. He identifies the counterfeits that pass for prayer, discusses the conditional nature of prayer, and explains why some prayers seem to go unanswered.

Description : Almighty God in the Name of Jesus and feel the anointing of Holy Spirit. This book was inspired by Almighty God through the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus to take the Holy Scriptures from the Books of Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon, and Philippians and use them as a basis for prayer foundation. Praying the Holy Scriptures is praying the Will of God, which is extremely powerful. Did you know Almighty God's breath is on each page of the bible? Have you ever wondered how to pray the Holy Scriptures? Do you know someone who can pray prayers that touch your heart? Do you want to grow in a relationship with Almighty God and pray His Will to be done on earth as it is in heaven? If so, this book is for you. Today and in the days ahead, we will need to pray more for ourselves and to intercede on behalf of others. Prayer moves the Hand of God. We need to have God's blessings, health, healing, wholeness, safety, protection, provision, wisdom, discernment, knowledge, understanding, guidance, direction and all His promises upon our lives, those we love, the Body of Christ, all leaders, local and across the globe. The decisions (or lack thereof) that leaders make in the Seven Mountains of Society - (Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Business, Education, Religion, and Family) affect everyone throughout the whole world, even extending to future generations. Absence of prayer allows the enemy to gain ground, but our prayers can expand our territory and take back all that has been lost and stolen, giving us back even more in Jesus' name. Shouldn't that be something every believer in Christ would want? Therefore, we need to pray for our bloodline, our future descendants, the Body of Christ and leaders throughout the world because in the days ahead, gross darkness will cover the earth. We need to be holy ambassadors for Christ, doing our part by taking action and praying. We need to know what the Bible says, what our part is and take action to do what God asks of us. After all, it should be the desire of every person to want to hear the beautiful words when they meet with Almighty God face-to-face and hear "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:23). Nothing else will do.

Description : The prophets and disciples of old walked with God, and in their walk, they encountered challenges and mountains, some of which we still experience today. For instance, the Bible talks of Elijah as a man of like passion, who sought the face of the Lord in prayers, and got results. So also Abraham, and Moses, and David and many others who triumphed through the power of prayer. So in this book, we will study how they prayed, what they prayed for and how they overcame their challenges through prayers. Also as new creatures in Christ Jesus, there are some prayers in scriptures that we need to understand which will help us in our spiritual growth and spiritual journey to maturity. More importantly also, understanding these prayers will help us in participating effectively in the prayer ministry of Christ. In synopsis, we will study the prayers of some patriarchs of faith; some prayers of the psalmist, the prayers of Jesus, the prayers of Apostle Paul and finally study praying in tongues in details - what I refer to as automatic intercession.

Description : This book is written to all kinds of people because all of us need to pray. Praying means asking. None of us is exempted from praying because we are all dependants in one way or another. Everything that is not God depends on God. We are inadequate because there is no time we don’t have expectations to meet. We have shared human desires. For example, everyone needs to be loved. We are all exclusively dependants on God because the desires of the human heart can only be found in the Lord. Trying to fix things apart from God is the recipe of failure. Praying is the greatest fellowship with God. We pray to the ‘all-sufficient’ God because we are insufficient by ourselves. Humanity with all human resources cannot save or fulfill itself. Our desires are endless and are constantly changing. For example, our eyes are never satisfied with seeing; we always want to see something new. Our ears are never satisfied with hearing; we always want to hear the current news. Likewise, the soul is never tired of yearning for the transcendent. People take different avenues when seeking for fulfillment but only those who have discovered the power of prayer experience true fulfillment. We are called to pray unceasingly because there is constantly a feeling of emptiness when we do not communicate with God. Emptiness is the reality of the void that colonized the heart, which was once a sacred space occupied by the Divine. Praying is to be intimate with God; it is having God’s ear and eye in order to see the earthly things from the heavenly perspective.
