Description : This book is the account of the author's eight and a half years of prosecuting for the State of Alabama. The reader will meet the prosecutors, (the "white hats) the defense attorney's, (the black hats) as well as the cops, the detectives and the bad men and blood spillers that plague our society. The book is not bereft of humor, with the reader being introduced to the court hangers on who are present in various incarnations in every jurisdiction in the country. The authour recounts some of the many cases that he tried and a few that were tried by other prosecutors. It is a fascinating account of people at their best and at their very worst. All in all, it is a terrific read that is absolutely true but reads like the best of crime fiction.

Description : “The night the trailer burned down, I think Daddy was the one who set it on fire. . . . “ For a long time, Edie thought she had escaped. It started in an Appalachian trailer park, where a young girl dreamed of becoming a doctor. But every day, Edie woke up to her reality: a poverty-stricken world where getting out seemed impossible. Where, at twelve years old, she taught herself to drive a truck so she could get her drunk daddy home from the bar. Where the grownups ate while the children went hungry. Where, when the family trailer burned down, she couldn’t be caught squawlin’ over losing her things—she just had to be grateful anyone had remembered to save her at all. And at the center of it all, there was her daddy. She never knew when he would show up; she learned the hard way that she couldn’t count on him to protect her. But it didn’t matter: All she wanted was to make him proud. Against all odds, Edie “made doctor,” achieving everything that had once seemed beyond her reach. But her past caught up with her—and it would take her whole life burning down once again for Edie to be finally able to face the truth about herself, her family, and her relationship with God. Readers of The Glass Castle will treasure this refreshing and raw redemption story, a memoir for anyone who has ever hungered for home, forgiveness, and the safe embrace of a father’s love.

Description : What would it be like to be a part of country music history? Singer/sngwriter and manager Merle Kilgore could have told you. He awed his fans with tales of his life in the music business, always with a supporting cast of impossibly famous friends. At age fourteen Merle carried the guitar for Hank Williams Sr. Four years later he wrote his first song, and Webb Pierce turned it into a million-seller. He double-dated with Elvis Presley, wrecked hotel rooms with Johnny Cash, held seances with Johnny Horton, and convinced Audrey Williams to put Hank Jr. on the road at fourteen-years-old. Merle became a prolific songwriter, entering the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He co-wrote his signature accomplishment, Ring of Fire with June Carter Cash. This work is listed by CMT as one of the top four all-time country music songs. These are just a few of the amazing stories of Merle's life, showcased in These Are My People, written by his grandson Mark Rickert.

Description : When a Detroit doctor’s secret life gets out of hand, killers come for him In the exclusive suburb of Grosse Pointe, Alan Canty was a respected psychologist, with clients drawn from wealthy families across Detroit. But at night, he ventured into the city’s seedy south side, where, under the name Dr. Al Miller, he met with prostitutes. One girl in particular caught Dr. Al’s eye: a skinny teenage drug addict named Dawn, an ex-honor student who had fallen under the spell of a pimp named Lucky. Canty became their sugar daddy, spending thousands to buy them clothes, cars, and gifts. But when the money ran out, Canty’s luck went with it—and he was soon found hacked to pieces, his body scattered across Michigan. Covering the trial for the local press, Lowell Cauffiel became enthralled by this story of double lives and double crosses. In this thrilling true crime tale, Cauffiel shows what happens when deception turns fatal.

Description : "What can be said about the author that is not already on record in the court of law in Colorado, Washington, North Carolina, Idaho, and Maine? Any person foolish enough to try any of the acts talked about in this book is an idiot and should be in a mental institute, or at the very least alcoholics' anonymous. This is a great book to give to the youth of America just so...they know that there is a John Tamar out there and they know things could be so much worse. I, for one, am truly ashamed that this man is still free to roam around the streets without having any warning signs for the rest of society." - Beardo Tensley"John has always been one that believes if you can dream it you can do it. Reading the pages inside, you learn how John became a highly skilled author/athlete slashy, and inspires all readers to do things sober they have once done drunk." - Anthony C. Jones"If you read this book you will find out why my wife and I have so much gray hair. Our son kept us up many nights wondering what he was up to in the middle of the night. This is a must read book to see what your children may be up to. Love, Mom and Dad"Author Bio: Author John Tamar wrote this book not to inspire a bunch of drunks to try to replicate what he and his friends have done, but to make you laugh and look back at the crazy times in your life.Publisher's website: http: //SBPRA.com/JohnTamar
