Description : For over 25 years, Dale Winton (1955-2018) was one of Britain's most popular stars. His warm and winning ways made him one of Britain's most popular and powerful personalities on TV, radio and with live audiences everywhere – but Dale's life was far from perfect. The story of his private life was traumatic and eventful, a tale of childhood insecurity, poverty and heartbreaking family tragedy – but also courage, commitment and strength. In this emotional, heartfelt book, Dale discusses the problems, the pain and the personalities of a life lived to the full in the mad world of showbusiness – as well as his plastic surgery, his lifelong battle with his weight, and the complicated truth about his sexuality. Rawest and most affecting is his honest account of his relationship with his parents, his bullying father who died on the day of Dale’s bar mitzvah – but particularly his close relationship with his troubled mother, whose struggle with depression ended with her taking her own life, her body found by Dale just days after his 21st birthday. With an eye to the future as well as his fascinating past, Dale Winton's autobiography will make compelling reading for millions, testament to the legacy of one of Britain's great entertainers.

Description : The novel is based on a true story, my own story, which happened in 1998 in the Eastern Caribbean and in Western Europe. I was in my mid-fifties, recovering from a radioactive divorce, loss of home and family and my company, a successful ad agency. I had simply reached a point in my life where I had to make some new choices about the future, which at the time seemed like it would be shorter and less financially rewarding than what had gone before. I knew, however, that my broad life experiences would serve me well in whatever opportunities presented themselves. An attorney friend of mine, who was active in international finance and offshore banking, introduced me to Sir James “Son” Mitchell, the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in the Eastern Caribbean. I was hired to set up and promote banking conferences in Puerto Rico and London to introduce the island’s new banking laws to the world of international finance. And we had some encouraging early results. Until one night in San Juan, Son Mitchell asked me to get involved as a PR consultant in a murder trial in Kingstown, the capitol. Two rich hillbillies from West Virginia, on a coke and alcohol tour of the islands on their very large sailboat, had murdered a very popular, local water taxi driver. The couple was incarcerated, but had hired an expensive legal team with major press connections to crush the reputation of Son and his government’s legal system. I got involved, we had success early on, but then an extremely rich and powerful Italian “family” got involved. What started after that was a James Bondian adventure that became quite dangerous personally. And made me thankful for my experience as a Navy officer in Viet Nam. Quite naturally, a lot of beautiful women were involved in the process, and thankfully I got out alive. I wrote the novel in the first person because I did not want to stray from the spine of the story, although as a writer, I felt privileged to speak of my personal experiences growing up in the South, and the marvelous blessings that had come my way over the years. I hope you like the book. Dick Reed, author

Description : Delve into an emotionally heady stream of poetic storytelling as Stanley Joseph fans out his extensive life experience in a vivid collection that melts together love, longing and desire for an egalitarian society into one heart-piercing blend. Like fine chocolate dissolving in the mouth, Stanley Josephs lyrical expressions of love and inspiration leave behind a tingling sensation with poems rendering the heart a house brimming with inspiration in It Is True, yet contradicting himself when he protests that love is often full of unnecessary pain in Survivor of Love. Notwithstanding, he shows his strong capacity for affection in Will You Love Me Once Again?, defying rejection with the heart-fluttering declaration: If I change all seasons into fall/If I make you my only golden flower/The one which embellishes my spring/If I make you the only dream of my nights/The fantasy of my days, the journey of my life/Will you love me once again? Coming from an immigrant background, Joseph displays a heightened sensitivity to the happenings around him, enabling him to comment commandingly on discrimination and poverty while still maintaining poetic cadence, as he remarks, In Heaven,/Are there people starving? Stepping on each other?/I would like to know better, to inevitably conclude, Oh, what a life? Its only beautiful for some. Meanwhile, he unhappily comments that racism is a self decision of a modern day caveman and that he walks in a cutthroat world, a furious jungle full of lions. Oozing with feeling fused into weeping lines of lament or ripe words of inspiration, Stanley Josephs poetic musings of a despaired heart debuts dramatically into the genre with his unique poetic brand.
